BS: OK What's Occuring???

Subject: OK, What's Occuring???
From: Bugsy

For some unknown reason, I can't access my personal pages. I obviously haven't lost my cookie 'cos I'm still posting as a member, and I've reset it several times.

Any ideas folks????

Cheers

Bugsy

Nobody wants to hear from you Bugsy. Simple as that.

Have you cleared your cache lately? Temp folders and all of that stuff?

Hmmm....I can get to mine OK, so obviously it relates to your having some despicable personal flaw....

Joke! That's a joke, I say!

Sorry, I haven't a clue.

Bugsy, perhaps you should team up with CarolC who reported "Sometimes I seem to have a partial cookie. I can get into the personal pages, but when I go to post something, I'm signed on as a guest..." in this thread today. The 2 of you might make one whole Mudcatter.

Seriously, Joe Offer replied and suggested the same as spaw - try clearing the cache.

Thanks, Bugsy. I was going to ask ... Is that the same as cleaning the hard disk?

Your cache is a store of internet files that are held on your computer and they are there to speed the process of loading web pages (saves having to download everything each time) but sometimes things get messed up and problems occur. Details of how to clear your cache are in the FAQ

WW, not the whole hard drive, just the (supposedly) temporary internet files.

Directions are in the FAQ, here. Down under "Solving Registration Problems," you'll see "Clearing Your Browser Cache."

Strange as it may seem, I thought I'd reboot and see what happened.

Couldn't even get into mudcat on Explorer, so swithced to netscape and got in first time!

Then had to reset my cookie and now all is OK.

Thanks guys for your concern.

And 'Spaw I can't spell a raspberry but this (*) will have to suffice. (lol)

I don't know what's the matter with Explorer but I just had the same thing happen again. So I logged out and came back in through Netscape and have no problems.

Wierd eh?

Bugsy, Netscape and Explorer both have their own independant caches. If it is a cache problem (and I'm not sure that it is or what it is), you need to clear the cache on the browser effected.

Thanks Jon but I've done all that. Just seems to be that explorer is playing up when it comes to mudcat. All other functions are ok.

I'll just stick to netscape for a while, though it's quite a bit slower.

cheers
