27 Sep 00 - 08:32 AM (#306421) Subject: RE: BS: I'm celebrating! From: Catrin The job is doing research with children with visual impairment, assessing needs and unmet needs - and it sounds just ME for all sorts of reasons. Lots of talking to people and lots of messing about on computers too. For those of you (and I know there are many) who are in the situation I was in a couple of months ago (well until just now actually, when I got the phone call). Rest assured, have patience, there is hope. Believe me, I know! Just thought I'd share some good news with everybody. Cheers, Catrin P.S. The money ain't bad either! |

27 Sep 00 - 08:44 AM (#306432) Subject: RE: BS: I'm celebrating! From: Skipjack K8 Yo! Well done. Know what you're feeling, as the present Mrs Skipjack is also celebrating re-entering the workplace, landing a job this very week, working for CRUSE, the UK bereavement counselling service. The memsahib is glad to be finally doing something with a moral dimension, as prior to standing still too long and getting pregnant, she worked for arms manufacturers and dodgy passport dealers in the early '80's. Well done you. Skipjack |

29 Sep 00 - 06:55 AM (#308050) Subject: RE: BS: I'm celebrating! From: Little Neophyte Mazel Tov Catrin, I am very happy for you. When does your new job start? Guess for the first while your mind will be wrapped around your new work. It is wonderful to hear persistence and faith has offered you this opportunity. May you enjoy the work. May you have a kind boss May you be able to dress casually and not have to buy fancy clothing for the job. And may they give you time to be at the Mudcat Cafe. Like Jon, I will make a congrats toast to you tonight at our Rosh Hashanah dinner. Bonnie |

29 Sep 00 - 08:21 AM (#308082) Subject: RE: BS: I'm celebrating! From: Catrin I start on the 16th I don't have to buy any posh clothes (formal dress intimidates children) My boss seems extremely considerate and is already including me in basic decisions such as where I would like to work from etc The job is just my cup of tea, 'cos I like people but I like computers too Its only three days a week so I should still have time for mudcat - and for a course I am just starting on creative writing Thank you thank you one and all! |
