Might this be it? It is in a little set "The Nutshell Library" with three other minibooks; I saw it again recently but it was first out in I believe the 70s, maybe 60s, and like some other early Sendak could be set to music readily. |

29 Nov 11 - 12:23 PM (#3265512) Subject: Lyr Add: CHICKEN SOUP (Fran Avni) From: Jim Dixon My transcription from Spotify: CHICKEN SOUP As sung by Fran Avni on "The Seventh Day: Very Special Songs for Shabbat" (2006) 1. It'll feed ya when you're hungry, warm ya when you're cold. You're never too young for it, never too old. When you're feeling sick, it's much better than a pill. Come on in and get your fill. CHORUS: 'Cause ev'rybody loves chicken, chicken, Ev'rybody loves chicken soup. Everybody loves chicken, chicken, Ev'rybody loves chicken soup. 2. You can have it with noodles—or rice, Carroty noodles(?) of your fav'rite spice. When you're down it's a pick-me-up. Come on in; have a little cup. 3. You can serve it with a ladle, pour it from a jar. A bowl or a cup will do no matter where you are. It's always delicious served pipin' hot, And very nutritious drank(?) straight from the pot. |
