Lyr/Chords Req: If You Go Away

Looking for the lyrics/chords to "If You Go Away" (Rod McKuen/Jacques Brel) aka "Ne me quitte pas" (PLEASE pardon the spelling. Much as I would like, I do not speak French--well, enough to get myself in trouble, but not enough to get out.) Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't find chords, but Rod McKuen has a website at www.mckuen.com. If you scroll down on this page you should find the lyrics in English.

Rod McKuen has a web page? Wow. This is definitely a blast from the past ...

Thanks for the question. That's another song I had completely forgotten.

without embellishments (I play it fingerstyle)

(Am) if you go away as I know you (can't remember the words to verse 1) (Am) must, there'll be nothing (G) left in the world to (G) trust, just an empty room, full of empty space like that empty (C) look I see on your face, blah blah blah blah (E7) blah, blah blah blah blah blah I'll be dying (Am)slowly 'til your next hello. If you go a (G) way, If you go A(F)way, If you go a(E7)way (if you (F) a(E7)way).

But if you (Am) stay I'll make you a (F) day like no day has (E7) been or will be a(Am)gain We'll look at the blah we'll blah at the (F) blah we'l blah at the (G) blah and worship the (C) blah (E7) then if you (Am) I'll under(Bb)stand leave me just enough (F) love to fill (E7) up my (Am) hand. If you go a(G)way if you go a(F)way ifyou go a(E7)way (if you (F) go a(E7)way.

When you hit the G chord do NOT sound the high G (in fact for accompnyment it sounds better to not play the high E string at all through the whole song. Then you can solo using it for the melody line. Sorry it's so sloppy--I don't remember all the words. if you have any questions or can't figure out any interesting embellishments (and someone more capable doesn't post) PM me and I'll be glad to help.
