Lyr Req/Add: It's My Lazy Day

Debbie McClatchey sings a song Called It's My Lazy Day. It was written by Smiley Burnett for Gene Autrey, the cowboy movie star. Part of it goes like pretty much like this:

Well, I might've gone fishin'
Got to thinkin' it over
Well, the road to the river
Is a mighty long way.
There's no rhyme and no reason
It must be the season
Takin' it easy
It's my lazy day.

If anyone can provide the rest of the lyrics I'd much appreciate it. It's a nice song.

Mousethief, you're fast but unfortunately inaccurate. Back in the Saddle Again is/was a good song, but not the song I asked about. The song I want is "It's My Lazy Day", containing the verse I quoted.

Mea Culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! Apologies all over the place, Mousethief! I hadn't looked far enough in what you blueclicked me to.

Thank you for your speedy AND ACCURATE info!

Any time! And I need to remember to put "scroll down" when the song isn't on top.

IT'S MY LAZY DAY
(Smiley Burnette)

[D] Well, I might 'a' gone fishin'. I been thinkin' it [G] over.
The road to the [D] river is a mighty long [A] way.
It must be the [D] season, no rhyme or no [G] reason.
Just takin' it [D] easy. [A] It's my lazy [D] day.

Well, never mind callin' 'cause I ain't a-comin'.
Just pass on by me. Stay out of my way,
'Cause a little deep thinkin' might drive me to drinkin'.
Just takin' it easy. It's my lazy day.

I'm findin' it easy to mind my own business.
I'm keepin' my nose out of ev'ryone's way.
I'm takin' no orders. Ain't hirin' no people.
Just takin' it easy. It's my lazy day.

Ain't askin' no questions. Givin' no advices.
Ain't datin' no women. Ain't wantin' to play.
Just a-gonna look stupid. Don't want to meet cupid.
Just takin' it easy. It's my lazy day.

[Sung by Gene Autry in the film "Riders of the Whistling Pines", 1949. Recorded by Smiley Burnette, Gene Autry, Vaughn Monroe, Bob Wills, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Darrell McCall, and others.]

Debby is here today, visiting my wife the chiropractor. She said she made a big hit with this song in Scotland on her recent tour. Seems she sang for a fishing club, and they loved the song. They invited her to go fishing during her next visit.

Debby uses more-or-less the same lyrics Jim posted, but she uses the first verse as a chorus.

For mandolin pickers, it's well worth getting the Bob Will's version just to hear Tiny Moore's improvised mandolin solo. Django would have been proud!
