11 Oct 00 - 11:52 PM (#316870) Subject: Raccoon ^^ From: wysiwyg Hardiman found this one and we thought it was very funny. I suppose it could be tacked onto most any song in this pattern like Bile Dem Cabbage, or Old Joe Clark, etc., but it is listed in the Warner collection on its own. RACOON (Anonymous) O, the raccoon got a bushy tail And possum tail hit's bare And the rabbit ain't got no tail atall 'Cept a little bunch o' hair. Love, hit is a killin' fit Beauty, hit's a blossom. Effen yo want yo finger bit Jes' stick it at a possum. I tuck my gal to the barbecue An' this is all she eat Is a pot and a half o' Brunswick stew And a side and a half of meat. Love, hit is a funny thing Shaped jes' like a lizard. Crawls right down your backbone Nibbles at yo gizzard. CHORDS: I, IV, V. SOURCE: Traditional American Folksongs, Anne & Frank Warner, as sung by Frank Warner.^^ ~S~
