Dear Friends, Several months ago, I had asked for help in finding out anything about "Moonlight in Mayo". I came up empty. But I thought I'd try again. I am looking for composer, and any history at all on the song. Thanks in advance for your help. Respectfully,

Bob

Well, I don't know if this helps or not.

"Antiques Unique" has sheet music listed for "When it's Moonlight in Mayo," dated 1914, and it has no name listed for a composer/lyricist. (clicky)

I take it you've got the words. We had it as a pre-wedding request to learn, and it became our pub emptying song after last orders!

Bob, it was written by Seamus Kavanagh as mentioned on a previous thread.

Thank you so much for that composer's name. I didn't catch it on the previous thread. If you can direct me to where I may find out more information, that would be great. Regards, Bob

All I can tell you is that Seamus Kavanagh also wrote the following -
Put More Turf On The Fire
Biddy Mulligan, The Pride Of The Coombe
Road To Bandon,
Rose Of Mooncoin.
