25 Oct 00 - 11:52 AM (#327010) Subject: Soulful Shade of Blue From: Seth In 1968, Buffy Saint Marie made a great album. I think it was called " Country Girl Again" It was the only straight up country thing she did ( I think) and it had some great songs on it that I never heard anyone else do. I think if she had stayed in that area, she would have given Loretta and Tammy and Emmy Lou a run for their money Anyway, the song I'm looking for is "Soulful Shade of Blue" "Dressmaker, dressmaker, I'm singin' at the ball Next Saturday night and he'll be there...." There were lots of other good songs on that record , but this is the one that my wife and I like to sing. THe record and the words are in the U.S., however, and we are in China for the next year or so.... Thanks Seth from China |

Grr, I can remember much less of it than I thought. It's also on the "Best of Buffy Sainte-Marie" album. You can probably find it at lyrics.ch; I couldn't get the lyrics to pop up, but I haven't compiled the Java development kit for Mozilla yet. Chocolate Pi |

SOULFUL SHADE OF BLUE
Dressmaker, dressmaker, I'm singing at the hall
Make it a soulful shade of blue, with a ribbon at the hem,
Dressmaker, dressmaker, don't make it loud or bright.
Make it a soulful shade of blue, with a ribbon at the hem, |
