03 Nov 00 - 09:00 AM (#333459) Subject: RE: john lennon From: Whistle Stop Seems funny that we're quoting John Lennon lines that he lifted from others -- Maggie May, Baby Let's Play House ("I'd rather see you dead little girl than to be with another man..."), "you want to save humanity but it's people that you just can't stand" (forget the origin of that one, but it's been around for a long time). Lennon had his ups and downs -- in my opinion there were more ups before the Beatles breakup, more downs afterwards. |

26 Nov 08 - 06:19 AM (#2501878) Subject: RE: john lennon From: banjoman Totally mystified by this thread - what's it all about. Many years ago I had a friend named John Lemon (true) in Liverpool who wrote a couple of songs and lots of poetry. The one song I still recall was "Hey Mary there's a Fairy" about a happening outside a pub called The legs of Man in Lime Street. Does this have any relevance to this thread??? Pete |
