02 Nov 00 - 05:12 PM (#333045) Subject: RE: Help: where do I find tunes From: MMario oaky - 1) easy way. there is a mirror of the Digital Tradition at http://www.numachi.com/~rickheit/dtrad/ blue clickie to the same place Though it is a version or two behind the MudCat, if there is a tune listed in the DT the Yet Another Digital Tradition site will display it in a number of formats, including printable gif's (sheet music!) 2) slightly harder way - download some software that will allow you to make sheet music from the midi's available here on the MudCat. (see FAQ - there is a section on this, I think)(BTW - I reccomend Noteworthy Composer - it's well worth the price...) this gives you access to any tune in the current version of the DT on the MudCAt, plus any tune posted at Alan of Oz's MudCat Midi site (see quicklinks) 3) really tough way - raise cash, find the sheet music and purchase. (actually - for me this IS the hardest way!!!!) |

It's not yet available for downloading, but if you send $5 to: Digital Tradition 28 Powell Street Greenwich, CT 06831 I'll send you a CD-ROM. dick |

03 Nov 00 - 10:08 AM (#333504) Subject: RE: Help: where do I find tunes From: dick greenhaus MMario- It's been out since late spring, but we've been doing some extensive debugging. It prints scores, plays on a wide variety of cyber instruments and has a very Windows/Mac interface. For serious searching, though, it's not as powerful as the old DOS version (doesn't support wildcards or Booleans). |
