I am extremely sorry to say that Larry, a longtime acquaintance, died suddenly this fall of a heart attack. He was 45. A couple of weeks ago there was an all-day benefit/tribute memorial show for him at the Rainbow Bistro in Ottawa, a fundraiser for his daughter. He recorded a CD (maybe more than one) with the guitar player he worked with the most, Vince Halfhide, which was nominated for a roots/traditional Juno award (Canadian recording industry thing). Larry was a great guy, a natural storyteller with an ebullient personality that made him always fun to encounter. I'll get the name of the CD and other info and post it here. Willie-O |

There's a bit of info and a picture on blues guitarist Paul Fenton's site. His recordings if available should be gettable from The Ottawa Folklore Centre. And it turns out he actually won a Juno. |
