08 Nov 00 - 05:29 PM (#336849) Subject: "they say its his face..." lyrics From: GUEST,Susan Davis sgdavis@weber.ucsd.edu I'm lookingfor lyrics to Malvina Reynolds's song, "The Man in the Mask." So far as I know it was only recorded on Michael Cooney's Singer of Old Songs album, (and I wore out that tape.) It begins: "Come sit down beside me and watch the big TV..." It is about what she thought Nixon looked like on TV, and so very relevant to current political scenes. The chorus goes, "They say its his face, but I just can't believe it..." I dont turn it up on any Malvina webpage. Can anyone send it to me? Thanks. |

I got the Broadside sheet for it, which is dated 1966, so I'm a bit shaken by the 1971 date on this copy. I've been performing it for years; it's a hard ditty to wrap yourself around, as it's in two keys and two different time signatures. |
