10 Nov 00 - 02:24 PM (#338120) Subject: Folk song from film 'Sirens' From: GUEST,bryn@personalbest1.com The 1995 Australian film Sirens, with Hugh Grant, Elle McPhearson and Sam Neill, had a few folk songs in it. One of them is Mari's Wedding ("Step we gaily on we go, heel for heel and toe for toe"), but the other one is the one I want, and I didn't recognise it. The only bit of the lyrics they sang in the film went something like this: "She is special, she is pretty, she is the girl from (someplace)" and then there was another line which I can't remember. It was a nice tune, and I've been singing it for weeks since we rented the video, but I feel kind of silly singing just the one line over and over again. I watched the credits, but they didn't credit Mari's Wedding and I didn't see anything that would have fit this tune for a title either. Help! Lyrics and music would be wonderful, but even if I just got a title, I'd probably be able to track it down. Does anyone know this tune? |
