Can anyone of you brilliant people please help me with the lyrics to the song "Hidden Love" by Four Men and a Dog? I have checked the database, and previous threads, but I couldn't find any mention of it. I'd be forever grateful.

It was written in 1989 by Peter Case.

Couldn't find the lyrics, they may be on the CDs but from this site you can contact him, via the record company.

My wife has always liked the song so if you do find them can you put them on this thread?

I have always liked the (trad) tune that 'Four Men and a Dog' go into and the end of Hidden Love. Any info on that one 'Sheila Coyles'. I played it at a session recently and was told that there was another (American) title for this tune?

After all that I realised that I had in fact written the words down, off of the CD, some time ago.

Of course I can't find them now and will have to do it all again?

And as it happens I found the lyrics elsewhere, so if you're still interested, here it is: (hope I get the line breaks right)

I don't know the song but I think the video was available at a hotel I stayed at once (for clients over 18 only).

Thanks Magpie, for posting these Hidden Love lyrics. I'm learning the song, and I recommend the entire 'Blue Guitar' album by Peter Case, the song's author. The album will hurt you and help you both. Masterpiece

Fyi, pretty sure it’s “vast black night” rather than “last black knight.” At least in PC’s version.
