We are there Fri night, Saturday Lunch, Saturday Night and Sunday Lunch. The pub (White Lion, 242, Manchester Road, Swinton, M27 4TS) does tend to close the front doors between 4pm and 7pm but don't worry about that - ring the bell or go round the back - Geoff and Liz Riley (mine hosts) are expecting you. If you get lost, or cannot find a way in, ring the pub on 0161 288 0434 or me on 07771 957616 The pub will do meals Sat and Sun lunch. Sat dinner is a proposed trip to the fleshpots of Rusholme... There are also local eateries a plenty - just ask at the bar if you want owt else. I know Catrin will be back later than me - the JA is just too good! So I am sure she will post more details if I have missed anything. Great minds think alike because I was going to post an ALL CAPS message too. All I would add is for those 'catters arriving on Friday evening/night - make sure you eat before you get to the White Lion - they can't do food on Fri nights!. Like Dave says - there are loads of eateries around. To my recollection, chinese, Indian, fish'n chips and nepalese! Quite enough choice for anybody. I just tried to ring the landlord and got some strange bloke instead. Sorted it out with DtG though who spoke to the landlord about the internet connection. The landlord says it is possible in principle. Obviously we will have to sort out charges etc. and see who brings a laptop over the weekend..... We'll probably have to play it by ear. I have been trying to work out ways of delaying paying bills but I really need to get them sorted and £50 a week unemployment benefit does not give me a lot of room to manoeuvre - transport costs alone , a 2 hour journey, would ammount to 1/2 of that.
