Lyr Req: That's My Song

Subject: That's My Song
From: Filley

Hi -- I'm looking for the writer of a song that I learned in the 60s -- some of the lyrics go: It's been a long life/Done a whole lot of working/Had a hard time/But I'm always learning/Been a good life/But there's still that yearning/That's my song/That's my song

Anyone know this song and/or who wrote it? Thanks!

The link posted above is dead.

These lyrics are copied from http://www.esther-ofarim.de/thatssong.htm and edited a bit by me, based on listening to sound samples.

THAT'S MY SONG
George and Barbara Tomsco

It's been a long life; done a whole lot of workin',
Had a hard time, but I'm always learnin'.
It's been a good life, but there's still that yearnin'.
That's my song. Mm-mm-mm. That's my song.

Makes me wonder, but I don't think I'm mistaken.
Gettin' tired now; too much time I've wasted waitin'.
All alone now; have no folks, no relations.
That's my song. Mm-mm-mm. That's my song.

I wish I knew what I am and where I'm goin'.
Tried my best, but I still ain't made my showin'.
All I know, when that freight-train whistle's blowin',
That's my song. Mm-mm-mm. That's my song.

[Recorded by Carolyn Hester, "That's My Song," Dot LP DLP3604, 196?, and on "At Town Hall;" by Esther Ofarim on "Songs of Our Life;" and by Jimmy Gilmer on "Lucky 'Leven/Folkbeat."]
