Can any kind soul provide the lyrics to Mary Danced with Soldiers, as sung by Emmy Lou Harris on the 2nd Will the Circle be Unbroken album? I listened to this song for the first time today. It's one of the best modern songs I've ever heard and I HAVE TO LEARN IT!! A few of the words are hard to make on the CD unfortunately.

Note the crosslinks at the top of the thread - the song is also in the Digital Tradition. It's not traditional - Paul Kennerly was the songwriter.

  • verse 1, line 1: he'd slip away
  • verse 1, line 3: at the mill
  • verse 2 line 3: before a bullet crushed the life from their romance
