CatConcert 8 will feature the blues stylings and fine guitar work of DWDitty. It will happen Monday, Nov. 27, at 8:00 pm EST. Go to the Mudcat Concert Room on PalTalk. You have to check "show adult groups" in options. The Password is marmot. The room will be opened around 7:30. I hope to see many of you there>
Sandy

I plan to be there. For those of you who have never heard DW -- plan now to get Paltalk installed so you can hear him. It's a real treat.

That's good news, Mary. If anyone's been procrastinating with the PalTalk thing, now's the time to do it because you don't want to miss the incredibly groovy guitar and soulful singing of dw! Margaret

Well, that was not easy, but I finally managed it, and the Mudcat room is locked and won't let me in. Has 16 in right not, with a little padlock icon in the margin. This sucks..................

I have been clicking on the room, and using marmot. Nothing happens. There is a padlock icon in the open/closed column. what next? do I have to get in before the concert starts?

padlock just means needs the password. don't know why you aren't getting in. He just wrapped up - so peole may be going to the regular room

Well, folks, dw was great. He's always fab, of course, but it was really a pleasure to hear a whole unbroken 45 minutes' worth! Many thanks to dw for preparing such a fine line-up of songs and for being the wonderful singer and player that he is. And many thanks to Bigchuck for organizing. Margaret

Well, !@#$%^&* AND *&^%$#@! room was locked, password didn't work, and the reg. Mud cat room (which I finally found) won't let me say "shit" because it is a G rated place! Tell me what 4 year old doesn't know shit/shat. I HATE censors!!

And while I am on this soapbox, loki is wonderful. Loki is great. I am glad we have loki, but loki alone sucks! Every time I need to go to personal pages, I have to go to the Help page, and clik on Jon's loki personal link,I can't remember it...........

dw,sorry to have missed you (especially as I think you aresuperb) but I got caught up with other things.

sorcha, (and dw sorry to bring this in here)

1: when I first proposed the use of PalTalk, I invited everyone interested to have input as to ratings for the room (that is the session, not the concert room), tried to explain the implications of all the possibilites and asked for opinions. My choice was based partly on a descision I was torn between (the difficulty of having an open, rather than password protected room, which allowed for "adult language" but recognised the need may change because children sometimes are present -hard to say to an 'outsider', "Sorry mate, the rules say 'adult' but we have children in"... and the censorship way). I only got feedback from one member on that issue when I posted it (although I have had a lot of support in terms of what I was, and still am, strongly in favour of, i.e. keeping that room open to all, regardless as to whether they are Mudcatters or not).

2: Max is doing his best to provide a solution. Pleae be patient and read the "Banner ads for Mudcat thread".

Jon

I know, Jon. It's just frustrating that there is no real solution for us. My frustration level is really maxed out right now, and I know there is no better solution available. I just wish there were.

Part of the frustration is that on one of the other BB's I sometimes post to the flood control has been upped to 4 minutes, and one can't even type in the tune name "White Cockade", cockatiel, etc. because it contains the word "cock". "Christmas" is not allowed, but if we are clever, we can type C O C K with spaces. Just seems like such a waste of time and effort. Thank all the gods for Max and his "No Censorship" policy.

Thank you and the chucks for doing what you can. We all do appreciate it, even if I can't figure it out yet.
