I'm with Morty.......or I want to be when we photograph her nekkid with only a mandolin.

Anyway, Glad the move is about over and as we've talked about, this is a good thing for awhile as long as no one goes nuts!!! Rog can retire to his "Den" and such.(:<))

Which reminds me.......Same phone?

Spaw

Here is bread and salt that your new home may never know hunger,
Here is wine that it may neverknow thirst,
Here are ashes from my hearth that it may never know cold,
Here is ice from my glass that it may never know overwhelming heat.

I made up the last one. Happiness in your new nest. Joy and tranquility for you and yours.

May this be the best little old nest you could possibly have dreamed up for this period of time.

May all who enter bring love, and may all who leave take love with them.

I just made that up. Wouldn't it look good over a doorpost?

Thanks so very much, all of you. How sweet, Mortee!

So far, so good, sorta. I am up at 4am because the hissing and growling wouldn't stop. As soon as I'd got one settled, another would start. Rue's cat has no fear of anyone, is not really agressive, his mom just forgot to teach him about personal space; of course it's just been him and Rue for a couple of weeks, so it must be a very sudden adjustment for him, too.

In typical fashion, Rog, has slept through it all; Rue woke once, but not for long. It is only "mom" who stays awake because of them all!

I think we can handle it for a few months, though. We do have to go back and get the houseplants and birds, today, as well as a few last minute odd bits here and there: kitchen dishes, bathroom cabinet; hang-up clothes, lots and lots of trash.:-)

Thnaks for the blessings, they are lovely, as are the thoughts, and Spaw, you are right baout Rog and his "den". He's got it all settled in the driveway, close to the door off of the kitchen for quick escapes.**BG**

Alex, your thought (blessing?) is so good it makes me think I've seen it somewhere before. You're right, it would be something nice to calligraph and mount over the entrance to the house.

The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one's own country as foreign land. (Chesterton of course.)

So long as the cats are hasppy in the new place, you'll be happy. And so long as you are happy, the cats will be happy. And just think of that cable connection...

kat, when we moved, a friend gave us a doorway plaque that, translated from Latin, said "Small house, great love." May you find yours so.

Kat,
The kitties are just setting up a pecking order. Mine are going through it again because my nephew went to Buffalo for four days and they took over his bedroom. Now he's back and...HISS, etc. It will pass. Be happy in your new home. Fill it with love and soon Pepsi points - I have a few too.

OH, yeah, it's a blast, Alison! Arrrggghhh! **BG** Thanks everyone. It is a temporary move, so we put almost everything in storage and so far I don't miss any of it, but I am sure I will. We kept out the important bits and Rog was happy that we didn't fill a 10X10 storage unit; easier moving when there is less!

I am pleased to report the moggies are doing much better. Trys the Tyrant has even mellowed out. I think our daughter's cat, Kipling, a totally fearless, yet not aggressive snowshoe Siamese, has him totally puzzled and a little frightened. Kipling is one of those who expects everyone to like him and is oblivious to mean hissing. even the first night, he didn't do the hissing, just the Siamese incessant talking, questioning, opining!

The tropical rainforest survived, too! Well, except that my 8 foot purple velvet plant became detached from its roots, so I had to cut it way back and am rerooting it in water. The really rare stuff looks great.

Rog and Rue have been wonderful, reminding me to take breaks, doing most of the work, setting things up for me. We are all very tired and sore, but feel so good about the respite we face for the next few months. It is a cozy little house with lots of charm, original wood doors with art deco doorplates and handles, arched doorways, and old-fashioned sash windows with real sills! Our old house had no windowsills! It also has hardwood floors.

We only have one phone line now, so I won't be on as much, until the cable company gets up set up with high speed access on the 30th. At that point my email addy will change, but I'll let ya'll know. The mailing addy and phone number stay the same.

Thanks so much for all of your comments. I am sorry I haven't addressed you each personally. It's bedtime and I am off to bed. More in a couple of days. You are the BEST!!

Glad to hear the move is going well. The cats will LOVE the windowsills. I'm sure they'll get the pecking order sorted out soon enough. Enjoy your new, albeit short-term home!

So........did Rog carry you over the threshold 'nekkid' while you were playing 'Home Sweet Home' on mandolin?
I think you should send Catspaw the video you sent me of that scene.

Mazel Tov Kat!
I hope you have good neighbors.
Has the welcome wagon lady come by yet? I remember when I moved to a small town in BC, the welcome wagon lady came over just to be nosie and check us out.

"Hearth and fire be ours tonight..." (Sorry, blue clicly is still beyond me, but the song's in DT, and it wanted to be your houseblessing). Tig and Kat, the stuff that stays in boxes for a long time is called D.W.I.L. (Deal WithIt Later)
