"hellacious" - ditto. 6. perpendicular - describes the lovemaking technique of giraffes, who really have no choice about the matter. 7. democracy - a semi-mythical means of governing a people...works on the principle of giving them the impression that they have some control over the process, a dubious notion at best. It's still better than dictatorsip, however, unless the dictator is a person of very advanced moral responsibility and very humane character, with the genuine interests of all his/her people in mind...(which can hardly be guaranteed, of course). :-) Say it when you're feeling down..."Democracy, Democracy, DEMOCRACY!!!" A tricky one - until she hit on the answer. The champage was duly earned - but what put the icing on the cake was when the Mail news pages did some meretricious round-up of "It" girls and social trash a couple of months later, and some hack trawled up the original clipping and blindly lifted the offending paragraph without realising it was a piss-take.
