Hey everyone.

Could someone please email me the lyrics and chords for the rattlin' bog? I can't find them anywhere.

Thanks!

The lyrics are in the DT here (and I found them because someone else left a message saying how to do it in another thread...)

A variant on this is where you get to the egg, and there's a bird in the egg,
and an egg in the bird
and a bird in the egg and an egg in the bird and
...you keep on with that like a broken record until they stop you.

and theres a variant that gets from the feather to bed (I don;t recall just how) then maid on the bed, and man on the maid.

Oh no, those chords have not enough changes. Too many pushes and suspensions. I'm working on this for Bishop Gundulf and when I'm happy I'll be back.

More like this I'd say, if you were playing it at dance speed anyway (Siege of Ennis):

C         F
Ho Ro The rattlin' Bog,
      C                G7
The Bog down in the valley Oh,

Repeat

C       (F)      (C)      (F)
In this bog there was a tree,
   C                  G7
A rare tree and a rattlin' Tree,
       C         (F)         (C)             G7    C
The tree in the bog and the bog down in the valley Oh.

On this tree there was a branch
On this branch there was a twig
On this twig there was a nest
In this nest there was a bird
etc etc

Murphy used to sing
And on this bird there was a bloke
I can't remember any more.
G.
