Lyr Req: Lyla, Lyla (lullaby in Hebrew)

Seeking lyrics to this lovely song (have a recording by Harry Belafonte on a very old album). According to liner notes, the title means, "night, night."

As indeed it does. Try looking under alternate spellings "layla" or "laila" -- the vowel in Hebrew here is a diphthong of "a" and semivocalic "y".

Well you can always buy this CD which apparently has the lyrics on the insert: Click

Good luck! I'm having no luck with this online.

A good way to find it is to put "night" into a translator to get the word in Hebrew, then put the Hebrew word into Google. Works for any language. Now, are they the good ones? that is the question!

From there

Great suggestion, Monique.

I found several more videos of this lullaby at YouTube:
