Is this some version of Death and the Lady?

I'm not sure exactly what it is, but if you have seen the folk/old timey music movie, "That High Lonesome Sound," the song is on there. It very well might be "Death and the Lady." I will check that one out.

Do you mean "Oh, Death?" (originally Dock Boggs, I think)

An oddly popular song. Many versions.

For recordings start with this.

Cannot find the lyrics in Digitrad.

A quick search found the following on-line lyrics:

Dock Boggs

Phyllis Boyens

John McCutcheon

Carter Family

Have a look at this discussion from around 18 months back, which includes a couple of versions of "Oh Death":

There are many references to this song/poem on Google..said to have been written by Lloyd Chandler.
