Ryan used his paper route money to buy me a gift certificate for a 1/2 hour massage at a local spa. I am definitely ready for that! No birthday cake... I'm trying to avoid sugar. Now I see a thread that reminds me I need to send a photo to alison.

At the end I told Dave and Antonia that it was my birthday and brought out a raspberry cheescake and microbrewed ginger ale. I was then delighted and amazed when Ryan started singing a German happy birthday song to me! That was the hightlight of my day. Ryan never sings in front of people, and it was great to see him animatedly tell what they do in German class when someone has a birthday, singing the song, and then describing lifting the person up on a chair... He never talked about this before, and we just sat there amazed as he started singing in German. It was good. Alice |
