Happy Harbinger

Last year a friend sent me this message. It pleased me so much, I hope some here would appreciate it.

"As the days grow shorter in the autumn, the sap in the trees run more and more slowly until by the 19th it has come to a full stop. The 21st marks the Winter solstice. The next day is the first day of Winter, but it is also the day when the days begin to lengthen again. The trees remain fully dormant until the 25th, when the days have lengthened enough to cause the sap to begin moving again. This is the reason for the Christmas tree of the Druids, the Saturnalia of the Romans and the birthday celebration of Jesus chosen by the Christians. The 25th is the harbinger of Spring. Happy Harbinger to you."

So I wish you all a
HAPPY HARBINGER

Mick

Spaw, you could crank it up and then warm your hands with the muffler. (Just a suggestion)

I have to say that I like this idea almost more than celebrating Solstice. But this comes from someone who throws St. Swithens parties.

Harbringer? HARBRINGER? HARBRINGER?? Well, now that is a new one, especially since spring doesn't really spring in Wyoming until at least May.......only 5 more months to go.....then a short 4 until Winter hits again....I oughta move......

In northern Michigan we don't get spring...Just Fall, Winter and the 4th of July.
