Okay, we all know that Matt like just about EVERY song, singer, and group that has ever existed. He love's 'em! They all RULE or ROCK or both. The music industry definitely wants more people like Matt out there...

But...who is his absolute number 1 favourite of all time? Who not only ROCKS BUT ALSO RULES? Who is numero uno for Matt? Who is El Supremo? The Big Enchilada? Who is it?

Is it ELO? Is it Billy Ray Cyrus? Is it Bob Dylan? Is it Herman Squiddlesworth? Who???

I HAVE TO KNOW...!!!

Bagpipes rule. But only in certain circles. I love bagpipes. It just wouldn't be Christmas without my Scottish Christmas CD. Adeste Fidelis on the pipes. Goosebumps!

What "circle" are you referring to? Oh.....Yes I see what you mean Rowana since bagpipes have a number of places suitable for the faithful to come into.

Maybe Biil D.?????

BWT I came upon a bit of info the other day that J S Bach was the first composer to use his forth finger and thumb on a keyboard and one of the first to compose for the pianoforte.

If anybody ever says their total-all-time-favourite-musicmaker is... anyone, either they are talking off the top of their heads, or they don't really love music.

The same way, if someone said that about food, you'd know they weren't really that interested in food.

So I'd be take aback if Matt came up with that kind of answer.

gotta go with my uncle Pat here, Meatloaf live seriously Rools......although I'm always waiting for him to have heart failure right there on the stage, the amount of jumping around and consorting with pretty young women he does.......although these days, one of them is his daughter Pearl......says something about aging and all of us old farts, doesn't it Matt?

But I still have a favorite.

Now, let's see, what WAS it, ummmmm, cherry vanilla rice dream ice cream, melting over ginger cake. Ummm, red lentil stoup. Ummmmm, whole what hamburger buns, with marmalade and flax oil on them instead of hamburgers, and stir-fry with hamburger crumble... :slurping sounds: YUM!

(Ummmm, actually, you may be right...)

I have to admit to rather varied musical taste. I even like a lot of the stuff Matt does...with the exception of Oasis, mostly. They're just kinda lousy. :)
Now, is it possible to have a favorite? I'd say yes. I have a dear friend who loves all kinds of music, but his big favorite at the moment is Bela Fleck. It's possible to have one artist that you like best, even if there are lots of others that you like -almost- as much.

The fact that anyone has favorite music/musicians means that they must not like some things as much as others. I must say I have favorites, and at any given time (like Caitrin's friend) I have A favorite. It changes all the time though. Salt of the Earth is in the CD player now, but it can be Rick Fielding, Golden Ring, Johnson Girls, NexTradition, Lou Killen, Watersons, Coppers, Webber & Fentiman...

Jeri, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. Does the fact that you have highest love for parents, siblings, spouse, children, etc mean you have less love for everyone else? I don't think so.

Well, I sure am gratified to see all the enthusiastic response that this thread has raised.

I still don't know who is Matt's absolute favourite. He's being coy. Well, I can understand that.
