You're right Kat the song doesn't seem to be on the DT so here's the Lyrics

SOME KIND OF LOVE
(John Stewart)

Some kind of love shines like gold,
And that kind's the hardest to hold;
For it catches the eye of each thief passing by,
Some kind of love shines like gold.
Some kind of love tears your heart,
For you knew it was wrong from the start.
Ah, but try to explain a moth to a flame,
Some kind of love tears your heart.

CHORUS
Some kind of love, some kind of love,
Everyone's searching for some kind of love.
Some kind of love, some kind of love,
Everyone's searching for some kind of love.

Some kind of love comes too soon,
And that kind of love heals your wounds;
When your wounds are all healed, and you're back on your wheel,
You'll say that kind of love comes too soon.
Some kind of love starts as friends,
And that kind of love never ends;
For it comes on too slow like flowers through snow,
Some kind of love starts as friends.

CHORUS

Some kind of love never dies,
But that kind's the hardest to find,
For through laughter and rage, it mellows with age;
Some kind of love never dies.
Some kind of love shines like gold,
And that kind's the hardest to hold;
For it catches the eye of each thief passing by,
Some kind of love shines like gold.

All the best,

Nynia

Correct Malcolm, I meant to add that I got the song from the singing of Heather Heywood. If you've not heard Heather but love traditional singers then I can only implore you to get one of her CD's, you won't be dissapointed. Heather is without doubt one of, if not THE finest of Scottish traditional singers. Some Kind Of Love (CTRAX010) and By Yon Castle Wall (CTRAX054) are available mail order from Greentrax Click here

Have heard Heather Heywood singing twice.The performances were absolutely outstanding - Listening got me to put a lot of effort in to start singing again after 25 yr gap.

As indicated by Nynia "By Yon Castle Wa" is wonderful and so inspirational to ANY unaccompanied singer. BUY. Geordie Broon

Yes, she's a fine singer alright, and to be recommended; I got the publisher info from her album, which I've had so long it's an LP!

The first time I heard this song, it was being performed by the Scottish group The Sangsters. They sang "Searching for some kind of love" rather than "Looking for some kind of love". "Searching" stuck in my head and then I heard a friend singing the song using "Looking". The result of that was that I found myself singing "Everyone's sooking for some kind of love" (For those of you who do not come from Scotland - sooking equates to sucking)
