15 Jan 01 - 10:18 AM (#374848) Subject: My new identity From: R! I've tested the Mudcat waters and found no sharks lurking. I did find an extraordinarily friendly group of people whose cyber-company I really enjoy. It's time for me to 'fess up. Rowana was my web name. Henceforth, I'd like you to call me by my real name, which is Reen. And what a liberating, cleansing experience this confession has been! Reen, who is not responsible for any debts incurred by Rowana.

15 Jan 01 - 10:35 AM (#374867) Subject: RE: BS: The new me From: Jeri Oh, we have sharks, but they don't have any teeth. They just swim around with their fins sticking out of the water trying to scare people. Welcome, Reen. I don't know which corner of the earth you live in, but I hope I get to meet you in the "real world" sometime. If that's not possible, I'm sure I'll enjoy your company here at Mudcat! |

15 Jan 01 - 05:06 PM (#375086) Subject: RE: BS: The new me From: Helen Welcome, Reen. You have found a wonderful community here. Enjoy! Lepus, In Oz there is a haircut which is, for some unknown reason, called a mullet. Crew cut, or short & spiky on top but long from about the ears down, sometimes long at the back and short at the sides. It's favoured by a particular type of guy: what we would call a hoon. Loves "hotted-up" cars, booze, talking big & loud, etc. Maybe close to your "red-neck" type. I think that these guys also think that farting is not only funny, but worth talking about. So, how relevant is this description to 'Spaw? Helen |

16 Jan 01 - 11:43 AM (#375323) Subject: RE: BS: The new me From: R! Gosh, thanks. This girl is all aflutter at your very warm second welcoming. I've been home this past week and a half with a pinched nerve and have spent most of that time here at the cafe. I'm better now (could Rowana have been somehow constricting me but now that I've shed that persona I'm healed? My head hurts from thinking these deep thoughts) and must return to work tomorrow. Now I'll have to sneak in when the boss isn't around. Have a good day, all. Supremely Serene Reen |

16 Jan 01 - 04:46 PM (#375616) Subject: RE: BS: The new me From: NightWing Lepus Rex, Another odd meaning of the word "mullet": in heraldry (coats of armor and the like), a mullet is any star-shape. So you can have four-, five-, six-, or however many-sided mullets on your coat of arms. Does that mean that Catspaw is a star???? *eek RUN AWAY* For newly out-of-the-closet Reen, how about a song:
[hmm]-Reen good night *L* Welcome to the 'Cat!

16 Jan 01 - 09:53 PM (#375856) Subject: RE: BS: The new me From: blt Welcome, Reen-- It should be very clear by now that the Mudcat waters are inhabited by a broad range of species, and that keeping track of sharks will be the very least of your worries...very few of the denizens here are dangerous-- well, maybe a few are dangerous in a cute kind of way--and a few are not exactly ready to be exhibited in a chafing dish (and wouldn't want to be, even if they were), but aside from all that, you just want to a bit mindful of what you bait your hook with. blt |
