Malachite, can you give us more clues? About how old is the recording you heard, like mid=70's, or mid-30's or somewhere in between? Just an old black guy with a guitar, or was there horns and drums and stuff?

Frankly it doesn't sound very bluesy at all. Sounds more like soul. But I'm not a great judge of these things so take this with a huge grain of salt!

LOVE ME
As recorded by Dorothy Moore on "Dorothy Moore" (1970)

I want to spend the night loving you,
Want to whisper in your ear "I love you".
Oh, if I shout out or I start to cry,
It's just the sweet release, oh, I can't deny.

Take my hand. (Take my hand.) Hold me close.
Darling, just love me, love me, love me, love me.

I want to spend the night loving you,
Enjoying all the things that you do.
Oh, you'll build a fire with your every kiss.
Oh, I never knew that love could be like this.

Don't stop now. (Don't stop now.) Please don't stop.
Darling, just love me, love me, love me, love me.

(What a lovely, such a lovely night for love.)
What a lovely night for love.
(What a lovely, such a lovely night for love.)
Oh, to bad(?) a perfect love

I want to spend the night loving you.
Will you show me all the things I should do?
So when you're thinking of your woman's love,
I'll know I'll be the one that you're thinking of.

Take me now. Show me how.
Darling, just love me, love me, love me, love me.
Take me now. Show me how.
Darling, just love me, love me, love me, love me.
Take me now. Show me how.
Darling, just love me, love me, love me, love me.
