I'm sure I'm doing this all wrong, but the following turned up in the Help Forum and I thought we'd have a thread for the topic. (I'm e-mailing the lady to come back and see.)

Helen, if you CLICK HERE, you'll find a book review. The book mentioned should be available locally and it could get you started. The book also includes a sampler CD in case you want to infect your class with the blues!

Keep watching this thread for more links and information.

C'mon, Mudcateers, haul out those bookmarks and clicky up.

Sorry, that's my first clicky on this 'puder, my template was wrong. It's:

Hal Leonard Pub. has CHESS BLUES CLASSICS, a 50th anniversary collection (songbook) with introductory info about Chess Records in Chicago.

Kithchen Sink Press even made baseball-style cards! HEROES OF THE BLUES, 36 collector cards. Full Color paintings and bio's on the back (wha-hoo!). 1-800-365-SINK, if they are still in bidness. Wish I had a scanner!

Can't find the dang Jerry Silverman book. {I'll let you know if it turns up!) Songs and lots of historical research. Maybe someone else has it and can scan and e-mail you some info from that.

The second link should have been: A load of Blues history links rather than a link from my name.

FOLK BLUES, by Jerry Silverman, Saw Mill Music Corp, NY, 1983. Thirty pages of intro-- history, music theory, ALL! And 113 classic folk blues songs for voice, piano, guitar, each with intro info. This is more the country side of blues, the less "urban" look.

If for no other reason, read this book to find out why there are so many blues masters who are Blind This or Blind That.

Helen, if you will click on the word "E-Muzine" way up at the top of the page, between the blue bars, you will find a lot of articles about blues and bluesmen.......interesting stuff.

It seems the HEROES OF THE BLUES trading card set mentioned above is now out of print.

Guess what!!

There is NO copyright mark on them or the box they came in!!!!

I am trying to track down the people involved in doing them to double check legalities.... but WHO HAS A SCANNER?????

These belong to Hardiman, because I bought them as a gift, but man! If they were mine I'd send them to Max!
