06 Oct 97 - 01:29 PM (#14062) Subject: Lyr Add: UNCLE NOBBY'S STEAMBOAT From: Bob Schwarer Come for a trip on Uncle Nobby's steamboat Where you can hide your worries on a high float And we'll take a trip to Leprechauns & shamrocks And hide our minds and troubles for a while CHORUS: And we're going where the grass is growing green To a mystic land that no one else has seen Where oblivion takes the mind's reality And reality fades into a memory Captain Bluebeard gives a smile at the gangway plank to meet you The first mate by his side with a work card if he needs you They take you down below your cabin is cool & cozy Full steam ahead we're ready for to go CHORUS: Bring on the dancing girls the show is now in motion The choo-choo train is gone it's halfway through the mountains The fairies and the witch the banshee's drinking brandy Uncle Nobby at last is in command Bob S where |

17 Oct 06 - 09:36 AM (#1861247) Subject: RE: Lyr req: Uncle Nobby's steamboat From: GUEST I have been searching for this song FOREVER. Several years ago, a child brought the record to my school, I taped the song, and with passing of time wondered where it came from......Then when Titanic Movie was released, just before the ship goes down, do you recall the mom puytting her two little ones to bed? She tells them a story, ending "and they lived happily ever after in the land of Tir Na Nog". I knew I had to find the song.I searched every child album....finally good old Google helped me. Thanks to everyone who sent in bits and pieces. I have now sent for the CD Rifles of the I R A. Many thanks Mariah |
