27 Jan 01 - 08:29 PM (#383976) Subject: Yet another whaling song From: Lucius I have an ancient tape with two whaling songs. For the life of me I can't remember the artists. The first one is to the tune of Drunken Sailor: When my father was a boy, he went down to the general store, saw a picture book of whales.... and so on to the Chorus: Hoo-ray and up she rises (X3) early in the morning. The second is more campy: If I were a whale in the (X3) I'd feel so sad and I'd be so mad If I were a whale in the sea. Goes on to sing about the "Save the whale people" Anybody recognize either of these? Lucius |
