29 Jan 01 - 09:30 AM (#384712) Subject: Generations? From: GUEST,Marieke Smegen Hi there, once I heard a song about 'generations'. The refrain begins with "and there was war..." The first sentence is something like "I went to Dublin, in 1964, ...". I don't know which song this is, but I'm curious to know because it's a beautiful one. Who knows the name, lyrics and maybe even chords? phantommask@yahoo.com |

I really love this song, too. But I couldn't find the chords or tabs for it. So if anyone knows them: I'd like to have them, too ;-) Please write to: laura.struempler@gmx.de or contact me on icq: 287-700-844 Thank you! |

10 Feb 06 - 09:49 AM (#1665995) Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Generations? From: Jim Dixon allmusic lists 47 recordings of songs called GENERATIONS—probably 20 or more different songs. Only 2 recordings are classified as "Celtic": One was written by Diana Thornton and recorded by Danny O'Flaherty on his album "From the Heart," 1997. There is also Diana Thornton's own recording on her album "Gone by the River," 1996. Amazon.co.uk has a sound sample of O'Flaherty's recording, but I can't tell whether that's the song you want. Please listen and let me know. |
