BS: Tavern Prayer

Thought this might useful at the Mudcat Tavern
Our Lager
Which art in barrels
Hallowed be thy drink
Thy will be drunk, I will be drunk
At home or in the tavern
Give us this day our foamy head
And forgive us our spillage
As we forgive those that spill upon us
And lead us not into intoxication
But deliver us from hangovers
For thine is the ale
The bitter and the lager
For ever and ever
Barmen
Ribbit :)

There is a good Tavern song in a similar vein - I have only heard it sung by Geoff Higginbottom but it is written by someone else - can anyone enlighten us?

Doh's a beer, a Mexican beer;
Ray's a bloke who buys me beer;
Me's a bloke I buy beer for;
Fa's a long way to the bar;
So, I think I'll have a beer;
La, la la la la la la..;
Tee, no thanks, I'll have a beer;
and that brings us back to, doh, doh, doh, doh.....
etc.

Apologies to the VonTrapp family;-)

I have no idea who wrote the above - but I've heard it in at least three states - though usually with the first line

Dough, the stuff that buys my beer

and often "La - I'll have another beer!"

LOL!

Work in worship of the porcelain poobah and you're there. We had a thread that included that, we need a set of links to All Things Tavern. Topical Tavern Tour (pub crawl).
