04 Feb 01 - 08:01 PM (#390048) Subject: MUDCAT MELLOW TAVERN From: hesperis The evening is dark. You stride along the familiar path, and soon see glowing lights around the bend. A Faerie ring glows in the moonlight as you turn onto the walkway. Two bright windows spill warm light onto the path. The door creaks open, and you smell the heavenly scent of stir-fry, along with fish and fries, and apple cider warming. Welcome to the Mudcat Mellow Tavern, fellow traveller! |

Now... if I could get that appointment moved up from April... new glasses... then I could see, too... and not mess up my links like a mad Dunderbeckian driving good people to distraction... Maybe jeepman will come in and give us the tune he's working on... Miss the Mississippi and you..... Maybe Barry T will come in and find a new way to fall in love with music all over again... Maybe Amos will stop by and reveal his own peacock effort... Maybe Sorcha will stop by and curl up for a nice long snuggle with a good friend, and finally get some sleep while we stand guard ober her peace... Maybe Giac will come by and drowse off telling us a story... Maybe JenEllen will come in all relaxed and philosphical and give us galpals her take on the Real Secrets of Married Life... Or, maybe an Evil Mystery Guest will come in and we can play "What's My Mind?" ~S~ |

Rusty Nails are good for everything, MMario, but did you finish your reading yet? (I have mail to get out!) Rusty Nails, you know, is half Drambuie and half real good scotch, sniftered. It breaks into view a mile down the road, glistening in the moonlight and giving off a faint and mystic aura of mint lightning as it veers to a halt in front of the sleepy tavern. A tall and lanky stranger strides in, his right shoulder sporting abright-eyed Capuchin monkey and his left arm carrying a Dreadnought case. "A long haul on a cold night! Who's keeping the bar! Where's Miss Caitrin? A pint of the brownest and vilest, if you will, fair keep! Holy and at the same time so human people have trouble believing he is really a priest... till he leads a liturgy or shows up to pray with them when someone is dying. That man... he's ALL THAT. He's been a priest since '79, right out of college and then seminary. Me, I only been with him since late '92, so I am catching up a bit on that pastorwife thing. The night we met I decided to marry him, IF he was the realdeal as a priest. (I can't bear hyposcrisy; whatever one's beliefs are I say LIVE them.) So I took myself off to church for the first time in years just to see if he was full of shit. He wasn't. He was the Real Deal. Helps me be the realdeal me, too. But if you think I'm over on the edge as a pastorwife-- or that he is as a pastor-- you oughtta see us in action together!! No search committee can resist us! ~S~ |

Now, the next time you want grits, just think of grits, and they'll be there, right next to you! (Isn't that easy!) Sorcha - the acoustics are mellow in here. You can scream as hard as you want, and you won't even wake anybody up, ok? BTW, need a hug? |

It's BS: Just the Mudcat Tavern from sometime in the last year, and part two that continues on from it. That way he will know how to stay out of trubble on sugarstuff. Ah! there's the door to the Mudcat Mellow Tavern. Wonder who's in there at this hour. I don't know if I could deal with another belligerent man tonight.
