I am looking for words to The Hiccup Song. I have a recording of my great grandfather singing it but I can't make out most of the words. Anyone hear of it? Thanks, Stacey A. Johnson

The only one I've heard was a nursery rhyme(?)

Hiccup Hiccup go away
Come again another day
Hiccup Hiccup when I bake
I'll give you a butter cake

I know of no hiccup song but there are a few stuttering songs, could it be one of these such as

1 - The Stuttering Lovers.

A Wee bit over the lea me lads
A wee bit over the green
The bird flew into the poor man's corn
To see if the corn was ga ga ga ga ga ga ga green me lads
To see if the corn was green

Jimmy

A lot of singers sing "Rye Whiskey" with a hiccup using Hiccup several times throughout the song.A good example is T Texas Tyler if you can get his recording. Maybe this is what you are referring to Louie Roy

Didn't Danny Kaye do a "Hiccup Song" in "The Inspector General"?

there is a "Hiccup Song" for sale - here but I don't think it has lyrics - it appears to be an excercise for piano students.

Well, this probably isnn't what you're looking for, but is a rhyme that's supposed to cure hiccoughs because you have to hiccough to make it rhyme, and of course when you have to, you can't.

"It's been a jolly season, We're sure to win the cup, And that's the only reason I keep on saying __________"

regards, Kim

hiccups
or measles, have you had a diagnosis osporosis biosmosis with a mononucleosis
pusclerosis (etc. i cant figure out the rest)
Have you ever been short of breath?

Sung to the tune of the Blue Danube Waltz:

The hiccups I've got, "hic hic, hic hic"
Annoy me a lot, "hic hic, hic hic"
Can't get them to stop, "hic hic, hic hic"
It must be a plot, "hic hic, hic hic"
Try holding your breath, "uuugh"
or being frightened to death, "bo... ahhh!"
The hiccups go on, like a song
look out here they come again.
I don't mind a burp, "burp"
or a slushy slurp, "slurp"
Don't mind sighing, "ahhh"
Even crying, "waaa"
Or the snores of a boar
let me say once more
that a hiccup picks you up and puts you on the floor
My pants receive a rip, "rip"
And I sneeze so hard I slip, "achooo"
I can still recall a kiss, "muahhh"
but a hiccup is just the noise I know i'll never miss.

This song "the hiccup song came from an album that had a song "please put your toys away..." to the tune of "anchors away" does any one have the words to that or the name of the album.
