09 Feb 01 - 05:50 AM (#393897) Subject: what do you know about..... From: Morticia eye infections? I have a doozy right now, for which I have seen the doc and recieved anti-biotic eye drops but she's kind of puzzled because it's really painful and light hurts it dreadfully, both things you wouldn't expect to see in regular conjunctivitus.Anyone had any experience with this? |

From: catspaw49 Well Mort, I knew this ol' girl with a real similar situation and the only thing that brought relief was looking at a penis.....either real or pictures would work. Try it. Like her, you're probably just cock-eyed. Spaw |

That's one of the symptoms.....or is it measles, it's one or the other. (David had it when he was three, and that's rather a long time ago!!) He was light sensitive for ages. Good excuse to hibernate for a few days!!!! Hope you're feeling better soon. Bron. |

From: Morticia Forgot to say, Bron....as you know what I do for a living I've probably been exposed to all kinds up to and including scabies......but I've had CP and measles, wouldn't I be immune now? 09 Feb 01 - 10:03 AM (#394083) Subject: RE: BS: what do you know about..... From: Sorcha Mort, if it's some kind of chicken pox, it's Herpes virus, and you can get it more than once, and you can get it in your eyes....... |

09 Feb 01 - 10:25 AM (#394112) Subject: RE: BS: what do you know about..... From: Mrrzy Also possible: blocked ducts, either tear ducts or the little kind of grease-releasers that make the WD40-type stuff that allows your eyes to roll around in your head. Tim had that, it made big knobbly-looking growths in the inner eyelid, but you don't always get those. Very painful. The photophobia might just be a shielding reflex that doesn't have anything to do with the infection... ALso, has anyone checked the health of the little animals that live in the bases of human eyelashes? If they aren't thriving you might have all kinds of problems. I can't remember what their name is, little follicle cleaner dudes... But of course, Get Well Soon! |

From: katlaughing Also, if oyu are on any meds, some of them can make you very light-sensitive, whihc this might exacerbate. Have you thought of a second opinion. Also, if it is yeast related, at all, some types of antibiotics can wreak havoc with it, BTW, judging from what you've posted about your job and what's been cropping up healthwise IMO it is defintiely time for a new job!**BG** luvyakat |

And Kat.....not on any other meds and re. the job..don't I know it, darlin'! |

09 Feb 01 - 03:18 PM (#394374) Subject: RE: BS: what do you know about..... From: Kim C Morty, a few years back I had this eye infection, in both eyes, and it was really weird - it burned like hell but there was no itching, and no swelling. A little puffiness, but not that horrid swelling. And I couldn't go out without my sunglasses and even that was awful. The doc said I had an eye virus, who knows where it came from, here's some eye drops, no contact lenses or makeup for 3 weeks. The burning went away fairly quickly, and it has never come back. So who knows. Good luck! :) |

09 Feb 01 - 04:14 PM (#394441) Subject: RE: BS: what do you know about..... From: Sorcha Kate had something a while back that was just labeled "conjuctivitis, unspecified". Eye Doc told her to stop using eye make up until it was gone, buy all new eye make up, and scrub her eyes, esp. lashes with No Tears Baby Shampoo every day, plus the drops. A new mascara should be purchased every 3 mos. Mascara is moist so it is a great breeding ground for the Nasty Guys. Any make up used just before the infection/virus should be tossed, esp. eye pencils, liners and shadows. We smear them across our eyes, then dab back into the make up. |
