How many Oz Mudcatter's are there?

Just as the UK cannot be called insular.

It would be nice to know.

In Darwin there are a few - Stewie, Tony, me, at the very least. There are many others - Bob Bolton of course. Many like me just drop in occasionally.

Alison my mother-in-law is visiting Australia next week. Do you need any Galaxy?

All you have to do is keep her there for me.

I will send a whole lorry load.

I was born in OZ and have never found my way out.

OZ is my place of birth to which I return frequently and always unexpectedly. It is a most curious thing how they say you can never return home but this is not the case if home is OZ.

Also John in Brisbane and Ted from Australia. I think Garry Gillard, who has the great Watersons site, is also in Oz and I've read posts from him here from time to time.

Lena is in Oz. At least I hope she is still here. Last I heard she was trying to get immigration to allow her to stay.

She is not allowed to leave.

a) I haven't met her in the-world-which-passes-for-reality yet

b) she's a really nice, very creative and interesting lady

c) I loved her story about eating Vegemite on a croissant at the airport when she first arrived in Oz

A bunch of us (not all 'Catters I suspect) will be heading across the water this Tuesday to bring some Australian music to the Folk Alliance Convention in sunny and warm Vancouver.

If you're passing by, drop in to the Folk Alliance Australia campsite and say g'day.

G'day Shambles,

We also have JennieG and Callie from the distaff persuasion and McLapp, of diverse and devious (and UK) origins. (And a few more, of whose MudCat names I am not sure.)

Bob Bolton

Heard about the floods, hope all Ozcats are OK. My nephew is on his honeymoon there at the moment (last heard of in Victoria) but as he is a heavy metal freak I didn't put him in touch with anyone!

I put forward the proposal to hubby yesterday that we could go to Canberra at Easter for the Folk Fest and also go and see the Monet exhibition, but I was told, in no uncertain terms, that he ain't going nowhere while the Bathurst motorbike races are on telly.

Still, if the financial situation improves, I'd really love to go this year.

Another OZ Mudcatter I forgot last time round is **Kathy**. We have just got back from helping her and family pack to move house. From Lewisham to Mosman ... a rather upmarket move.

How quickly they forget *sigh*. Sandra, you forgot me, and freda underhill.

Admittedly, I'm longer living in the land of Oz, cos of meeting Rob and moving to the UK, but I'm still an Aussie at heart. Rob has a little bit of Oz in him too now. He loved his time there last year and made a lot of friends. He couldn't believe how friendly the Oz people are. We even topped it off with our wedding at Snalbans folk festival! We're planning to come back for the National at Easter 2012 to catch up with all our friends, so you have been warned!

I'm sure I met more than that in Canberra last Easter. (Bob Bolton probably still has the list he made for all the badges he produced for Mudcatters visiting the National).

G'day to you all!

Ross

(Not an Ozcatter but I do what I can to get there!)

I'm here...in sunny Perth, undamaged by the bushfires still raging here. 59 homes destroyed though...and counting. My thoughts are with all who are affected, and with those over East suffering through flood and cyclones xx
