Use our SuperSearch and see what you come back with. His name comes three different ways, Leadbelly, Lead Belly, and Ledbetter - for best results, try all three, one at a time. You may find Leadbelly recordings at http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/award97/ncdhtml/hasmhome.html, the American Memory Collection of the Library of Congress. Take a close look there at http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/lohtml/lohome.html, the John and Ruby Lomax 1939 Southern States Recording Trip. I didn't find any Leadbelly recordings there right off, but I did find information and pictures about him. Do take the time to search Mudcat under all three versions of Leadbelly's name. You'll find a wealth of information and lots of songs. I did a search for Leadbelly MP3 at www.google.com and found lots of sources of online recordings - click here. -Joe Offer- (e-mail sent)
