Kendall's an Author, too

With all this talk about Kendall's CD, and his other wonderful albums, it seems only right to point out that he's a genuine published author as well. Teh book is called "Stories Told in the Kitchen", North Country Press, 1981. Books in Print's website says it's still in print, so those poor souls among you that don't have a copy can chase those Febblueberry blues by using the Mudcat link to Amazon.com and scarfing up a copy.

And a television star too. The book is based on a weekly series he did a while back. If you have a chance to see it, pay close attention to the "French" gentleman and Kendall's reaction. In other episodes, the Captain sits with a deadpan expression and lets his guest go and on with the most outrageous stories. No reaction - a Maine humor thing. But poor Kendall smiles and then cracks up completely at the the French man's antics about a flat rubber tire. Out-curmudgeoned! Wonderful stuff.

Well, here (click) is a Mudcat link to Amazon's listing for the book, but it doesn't look very available. How does one get such a book, Kendall?

You may have better luck with Borders Books. The last I knew, they would still order it for you. They carried it for almost 20 years which is unheard of for a book. You might also try L.L.Bean in Freeport Maine. If all else fails, let me know and I'll scare one up for you!

If you like Maine humor, consider SEAGULLS&SUMMERPEOPLE on Folk Legacy records. I had a live audience there, something that cant be reproduced in a book.

OK Gang, I am going to sacrifice my copy of Tales Told In The Kitchen to the Mudcat. I just put it up for auction. Maybe we can get Kendall to autograph it before I ship it out.

You sure can Brett. I'd be glad to sign it. The only problem is, I wont be here for much of March. However, if the buyer wants it signed, just mail it to me and I'll sign it and return it by mail at my expense.

It should be noted that there are many copies of Stories Told In The Kitchen (at many varying prices) available at www.bookfinder4u.com as well as the Captain's other works.

Definitely worth checking out.

Buy Kendall! I mean, buy from Kendall. I don't think Jacqui's ready to sell him yet.

I can vouch for Stories Told in the Kitchen. As I read it, the kitties in the house knew to stay away from cat daddy when he had that white book, because he was gonna guffaw and scare the bejeezus out of them!

Sure is. Thanks. I guess now there is no more putting off learning how to download and manage mp3s. (And no snickering!)
