22 Oct 97 - 11:43 AM (#15078) Subject: Alabama Jubilee From: Old Timer I'm in need of lyrics to this old song. I can not find it in any of the 'net sources I know about. I would also like to know any history or background for this song, as I have been told it is very old- perhaps written in the 1800s (minstrel?). Thanks OT |

I have no references to give, just his recollection. Thus, he said that old Aunt Jemima and one legged joe (from the confed) danced together in church! That is all I know from his accounts... I bet this song is older than any of the recorded versions though. |
