03 Mar 01 - 03:26 PM (#410364) Subject: What is this tune called? From: Bernard This is really annoying me! I used to play in a ceilidh band, and we used to play this tune. I can't remember its name, or the dance either! Can anyone put me out of my misery? More to the point, as I was the bass player, I can't even be sure I've got the tune exactly right, though it's pretty close. I've been playing it on my accordion recently, and it will porobably end up on my new album (if I ever get round to it!), and the tune is already changing as I play it - either because I'm remembering it better, or forgetting it more!!

03 Mar 01 - 06:29 PM (#410472) Subject: RE: Tune Add: What is this tune called? From: Jeri It sounds vaguely familiar, but maybe just because bits match bits in other tunes. My intuition - often known to be wrong - associates the tune with brass bands. In my mind's ear, I hear tubas, trombones, etc. |

04 Mar 01 - 04:53 AM (#410617) Subject: RE: Tune Add: What is this tune called? From: Bernard Well, I sort of figured that it was a polka... it's the name I'm looking for!! JJ - it's the tune I played at t'club on Thurbly... I tend to play a lot of brass band tunes on my accordion - Blaze Away, Liberty Bell, Entry of the Gladiators, etc... |

From: Bernard Copy and paste this: <font size="7"><blink><marquee behavior="alternate" bgcolor="#FFFF00" direction="right">D A V I D !!</marquee></blink><:br><:/font> <marquee> makes the text move, but it doesn't work in Netscape, only IE4 onwards. <blink> doesn't work in IE, only Netscape...
