Only other info I could find was as follows:
"On Preaching Praying Singing, J.D. Crowe plays some fine Scruggs-style guitar. As its name implies, Scruggs-style guitar is highly influenced by the bluegrass banjo style's three-finger roll popularized by Earl Scruggs, who usually employed it on gospel material. (Flatt and Scruggs recorded the original Preaching Praying Singing."
