MudGather N. Central PA April 27-30

OK, we are on for the weekend of April 27-29 (30). There will be another in the summer with a date yet to be set.

I am picturing arrivals bearing a dish to pass beginning on Friday afternoon or evening, possibly meeting up at our church with picking preceding dispersing to various sleeping locations. (Camping if warm enough will be at our place.) And so on from there until the last gasp of Sunday evening. (Fine to stay on til Monday AM as well.) We will set up locations once we know how many folks we are talking about. Our house is pretty big with great picking porches, rooms, trees, etc. But we have at least one more house and a whole church for backup, if weather is bad, and you may vote in favor of the church acoustics after checking them out. (Copier handy!) And the town green is across from it.

We will also be doing some calling around to flush the local pickers out of the woodwork. There may be quite a few and this may just be the thing to fetch them into our evil web (the Mudcat). We will have a computer humming prominently to dig up any songs needed! We'll put out a tip jar for $$ for Max too.

A word about drinking. I know some of you must be wondering. We don't, but we don't disapprove, either, as long as it occurs after any driving necessary; roads here are.... fraught with death curves, blind hills, and one of the nation's highest rates of drunk drivers. But it's your choice. Mi casa su casa. Just check with Sorcha, Amos, Dharmabum, or MMario if you are curious about the "prudeness" factor!

Please e-mail me for more information. And if you have either held or attended a good gathering, tell me what the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that I need to know. Such as, paper, plastic, or real plates. Practical stuff. You know-- how many people you think can share two bathrooms, or are we talking portapotties!

The rest I know will sort itself out just fine. And I have held large house-type workshops, etc.

In my gatherings I have discovered one important thing. Don't buy too much food. Mudcatters bring tons!! I'm always left with lots of food afterwards and sometime windup throwing some out (which I hate). Supply paper plates, lots of paper towels, strong plastic forks, knives and spoons. COFFEE!!! Lots of COFFEE for morning.

Have a good supply of drinks. I usually have different beers and wine, but if you'd rather not just make it known so people can bring their own and just have lots of other drinks.

Most of all, relax and have fun!!

Love, annamill

Thanks annamill!

I am picturing eight Mudcatters to a bedroom and six to a bathroom. *G* We'll just put the beer in the tub; it makes sense, eh? Yup, six jamming Catters in the upstairs loo, beer commandeered!

I just signed up a good friend and excellent volunteer to organize the local-pickers' side of this so Hardi and I can focus on enjoying Mudcat houseguests. I hope we will have a lot of drop-in's from the local talent.

LMAO over the multiple hams you had talked about in one of the threads-- we almost had two, for the small group we had, and we are still eating up the one we held it down to! Thank God we have a freezer. Sounds like I'll have to set up a Mudcat Meals section!

Can't wait to load up the dutch ovens out on the porch to simmer whatever people bring. Stone Soup, a la Mudcat. Have to tote the woodburning cookstove back out onto the porch to warm breads by day and cold Mudcatter toes by night!

Hi Praise
Will try my best to make it for at least one day this time and drive in from the Stroudsburg area. I left word on another (Lehigh Valley) post about having some extra car space, etc. With all the posts talking about your gathering, you might get quite a crowd!

Hi Susan,

Thanks for the invite to your gathering. I would love to come. I will have my six year old son with me that weekend. Are kids welcome? Do you know if any other children will be coming? I am hoping to either carpool or caravan with Mark, Ron, Pete and any others we can round up down this way.

If MaryMac shows up, someone needs to check her for clean underwear. I do this every Tuesday during Mudcat Radio, but a midweek check would be useful, especially as she'll be visiting. Try to make arrangements to do this.

MarkS, that's great! Anyone coming witcha?

Yes Jeff, your six year old is welcome. I dunno about other kids. They will be welcome too though. I will see what I can arrange from here... have one idea. Unless he hates girls.

Tell ya what Spaw, MaryMac and I can check each other, OK? When we commandeer the downstairs bathroom for the acoustics. Nature's bound to take her course at some point; after all it IS a bathroom. Of course if you prefer to come yourself, you can take care of this function for all attending. If we can check yours.... eeeew, but fair's fair. Or phone us up during the event. I gotta get a speaker phone!

Plans here are continuing to move forward. Word will start going out tonight to let local players know about the All-Weekend Porch-Pickin' Party. I think we may have a bunch of new Mudcatters signed up as members before May 1! I hope someone brings a big box of Mudcat T-shirts!

Orillians, I hope you are coming too. Let's see... how many local players HERE have to get into Mudcat for us to be your sister-city? *G* Challenge for new members anyone? *G* A Mudcat "cell" in every county... LOL!

And, archery anyone? Too cold for canoeing.

There is a clicky to my e-mail up in the first post FMI. Please let me know here or in e-mail if you are planning to come, and what you need to be comfortable here.

Wha hooooo!!!!! This is fine but are you aware that we will be letting the air out of your tires when you are not looking? *G*G*

We were out at our favorite lunch spot yesterday. The place is usually nearly empty AND they have the BEST PIES and a laid back atmosphere. If things get too tight in our living room and we don't want to head for the church, they are all set to ply us with pie and coffee till they are done cleaning up after the dinner hour.... 11-ish was mentioned.

ROUND UP!

There are several people now helping me work this up, so we get Catters and local pickers participating. I do need for people who plan on coming to PLEASE E-MAIL ME so my helpers can work on details with me. Scroll up to a link to my e-mail and click on over to say howdy, OK?

Lol...well, I don't know if you'd call it "peak performance"! Most of the people weren't really interested in listening to music. And most of the stuff I play they don't know. But me and Nick sang "Arms Wide Open", while me and bestbud Ryan did our signature song, a harmony-laden version of "The Boxer".

In the car, driving to his grandparents' house, R.E.M.'s "Man On The Moon" came on the radio, and he and I were singing our heads off along with it...

OK, I figured out the sleeping space. I can sleep eight or nine upstairs on beds and floors, and four or five more downstairs, plus we have the pop-up camper for several more if it is warm enough, plus unlimited tent space. BUT-- it IS cold up here, still, at the end of April. Tenters will need to really LIKE tenting. But we do have two very warm sleeping bags. *G*

I need to know, if you are hoiping to come, what your sleeping needs would be. If you have physical problems that require a good bed, speak up!

Last night we attended a function an hour away at a tiny jewel of a church that is part of our Northern Tier Convocation. The dinner was in the house that may once have been a parsonage. Now, it turns out, they not only use it for church functions, they host hunters in the hunting season and it is a PERFECT setting for a larger gathering at another time, with a HUGE wood-floored area for music PLUS a wonderful pickin' porch. It's in the middle of nowhere, so pretty. It even has a tiny churchyard cemetery for sitting and wondering about the stories of the people. It's not far from a certain Catter's cabin too. I think we could use it for free if we agreed to do our own cleanup and bed-changing, and gave them an informal concert. (They like me a lot.)

I was nervous about sleeping space at our house and thought we should move to this location but I know now we will be fine. But NEXT year....

Any ideas on when in the summer you might do this kinda thing? I just applied for an intensive American History (Colonial Period) workshop in VA in August, & if I am going to drive that far (I'm a very reluctant flyer) I would like to swing through NY/NJ & PA... I don't know when I will hear about the workshop, but Susan, you will be one of the first people outside of my school to know!

And do not worry if your workshop timing does not work out. You WILL meet Mudcatters and I WILL be one of them, one way or another. In the meantime... don't forget Amos is there in your own backyard. Ask him about his song "Bring Down the Walls." It needs harmonies added. *G* Your voice is perfect for it.

Okay, here's a rundown on who I think may be coming. (If I've got it wrong, please holler!)

Pretty Definite: Mmario, Dharmabum, Mark S, Hyla, and Burke.

Pretty Hopeful: Dick Greenhaus, Susan of DT, and Bert.

Unconfirmed (or I've lost track) but Theoretically in Range: Marymac, Pete Peterson, Irish sergeant, Tony K,

And Numerous Far-flung but Very Welcome Mudcatters who may surprise us all! You know who you are! Come on! You know you wanna!

Wanted To But Can't Come: Annamill, Guest Randy

Home Team: Me, Hardi, Good News-Goodtime bandmates Steve, Ed, Mike, Francis, Artsy D, and Lilyfestre; friend and co-hostess Jackie (Froglady), and probably other local players-- word on suchlike later this week. (And various spouses, kids, etc.)

  • I've asked Burke to bring some Sacred Harp materials and she has agreed to be prepared to lead a bit of singin'.
  • I've got our single-copy songbooks organized; shall I run off some copies of some blues stuff? What else?

  • And I have directions to e-mail.
  • OK. So tell me again, who is arriving when and staying how long? Are ya bringing some other people with? (Yesyesyesyes!!!) Talk to me!

Well dang Mick, that sounds too good to miss!

Peg, the Saturday Night service is my main musical involvement acoustically... so I have to be there Saturday evening and of course so does Hardi to conduct it. Anyone here for the Gathering who would like to join us either to attend or to sit in and rock the rafters is welcome. But some people, I am sure, will prefer to cosy up to the fireplace the short time we are gone doing the service, and that's fine too, of course. It just seemed like a great chance to sing with you... ya know? Seems to fit, somehow. But up to you, of course.

As to material-- that service runs the gamut, and if it can be done acoustic or a capella, it'll work. Some of what we have just been doing is posted in the Lent thread; maybe that would give you an idea.

I think we hit a new stride altogther with Palms of Victory, blues-style, Hardi singing like Tom Waits. Mmario, you shouldda been there for that one!

    Hi Susan,

Well my son, Tyler, and I are definitely coming!! This just sounds like way too much fun to miss! I would still like to carpool with someone if I can arrange it, but I can drive myself if necessary. More fun to have someone to chat and sing with on the way up though. I was thinking about leaving around 5 p.m. or so Friday evening and plan to stay until sometime on Sunday afternoon. How long do you think the drive is from the Allentown area, Susan? We are still planning on tenting, unless it gets really, really cold or very rainy (or dare I say snowy). If the weather is bad, a corner inside on the floor will be just fine for us!

What about food? What can we bring to contribute? Sorry, I don't have a big heavy tarp like you are looking for.

Anyone that would like to carpool from the Lehigh Valley / NJ / Poconos area, please e-mail me at: landpres@enter.net

Looking forward to finally meeting some fellow mudcatters!!!

I have our "landing" reserved for you and Tyler if it's too cold for tenting. Right at the top of the stairs, where a little guy can be with his dad and either be in on the action or pull back if the geezers are too boring, but still be in earshot. My friend Joanne and her two kids will probably come and go, throughout, and Jackie's daughter with her two kids ought to be here some too. The neighbor's cousins and their kids could be around as well. So backyard boygames (and a trip to the pond that will seem SO BIG to him!) ought to be possible, and if you have play equipment Tyler likes that would be great. There's space to do art too so bring whatever Tyler would like to bring.

I wish you all could have seen our slip of a daughter, Artsy D Lemur, throwing furniture around today with me like it was sticks.

We created two sleeping rooms upstairs. One has three beds for people who need to be up off the floor, and two are mattresses that can be slid together. The other room has a good thick carpet and some nesting material to await those who bring their sleeping bags. There is also a cot and if it is warm enough, the pop-up camper which will sleep a couple and two individuals handsomely. Its foam mattresses are also available for backup in-house use in the dining room, and our couch is so nice I may sleep on it myself.

I am signing off now to go write the long post that will tell people what to bring and what they need to know, short of directions.

Directions are available via e-mail, and are long narratives describing what I have also provided as clickable Expedia map links. This is wild country driving in some sections. WATCH FOR THE DEER. I have a funny feeling some of you who have not said for sure you are coming may have gotten directions from someone else on the sly so you could surprise me-- so this is my chance to tell you, STOP IF YOU CAN, OR HIT THE DEER. Don't try to swerve, or you'll go airborne and have to be helicoptered to the head-injury center an hour away, where you will await your turn with the local drunk pickup truck drivers. Oh yeah. Watch for them, too.

We just had supper out on the front porch for the first time this spring. You know, I can't wait to see it full of Mudcatters.

    ~Susan

How come they only schedule these things on weekends when we're already having the NYC Shanty Sing? (sniff)

Because you did not invite "them" to the Shanty Sing in time. *G*G*

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

ARRIVALS. I think people will be arriving starting late Friday afternoon all the way through late Friday evening, and Saturday AM to noonish. (And Peg may get here Saturday evening for a bit.) It would help to know your plans, but even if you don;t know ahead of time--COME.

PARKING. The house has a horseshoe driveway that wraps around and behind the house. It is suggested that you PULL IN in the eastward or LOWER end of this, because parking will be along the westward or upper end. Please pull up as far as you can and off to the right of the drive (half on the grass) so that people can get by in the drive as needed. If this space is full, the whole inner side of the horseshoe can be used. If this is full, please pull in to unload through the front door, and then plan on being directed to nearby parking. Please do NOT park in the little triangle of grass behind the house in front of the corncrib-- that will be campfire space if weather permits, and maybe tenting space. Please also do NOT park in the ruts that lead off back toward the barn-- that is a working barn, and a tractor runs there.

FOOD. Hardi and I will do up dutch oven stews for all-evening eating on Friday, so hungry arrivals can be welcomed properly. (One meat, one veg) What we would appreciate people bringing would be either: easy fingerfoods for snacking, sandwich stuff, fruit, or salad materials, AND something to throw into the pot for Saturday night's stewpot, or to grill, AND a breakfast item to share. IF IT IS BAD WEATHER, we will move a lot of the activities to the church-- and that has a commercial stove with huge double ovens, so if you watch the weather before deciding what to bring we should have fine eatin'. Dessert is pretty much handled. (Please contact me if you have a specialty in that department.)

ALCOHOL. As I said earlier, this is up to you, and you should feel free to bring what you like. The spaces available are more than big enough that if anyone is uncomfortable in either direction, we can have more than one party going on! But please, remember this is rough territory for driving.

SMOKING. We don't, but are not bothered by it. If no one is bothered by the smoke, we will not ask you to step outside to smoke. Bring an ashtray!

LOCAL PLAYERS. I do not know how many people from this area will be here, or what their skills will be. Some of them I am expecting will be counting on a little friendly help with songcircle manners and jamming skills. I have invited a few who know Hardi professionally (town optometrist, lawyer, etc.-- not more clergy) who do not really play yet but would like to. I have promised them they will not be put on the spot to play, so be nice! On the other hand, some local bluegrass pro's may show up too.

I have not invited anyone I think would be offended by whatever kind of music we end up playing, or singing. In other words, though Burke may present some Sacred Harp material, I have not invited the whole county's Christian music contingent!

SATURDAY NIGHT. You must know by now about our Saturday Night church service. Attendance (and/or joining me in leading the music) is entirely optional. If you are planning to attend, or unsure, you need to know that it is not like any church service you have ever attended, because it does not feel like "church," and there is no dressing up for it allowed! It is, however, a communion service. This means, in our denomination, that anyone who has been baptized (ever) is welcome to receive communion if they desire, when that part of the service comes, but you are free to abstain as well.

Music planned for the service so far includes Farther Along as the opening hymn, Green Pastures as the closing, and some praiseful stuff in the middle, probably chosen at the last minute depending on who is playing along with us. I asked Peg to do an offertory with me but if she is not here or does not wish to, that will be up for grabs too and maybe Mmario will provide.

We head over to set up for church at about 5 PM, and quickly run through the evening's music.

I think it is very likely that some of the congregation may be comfortable staying for some more singing if pickers feel like sticking around picking. I thought we would just see what happens. This does not have to involve hymn-singing either, if we end up hanging around-- although it ought to stay kid-friendly clean in the earlier hours!

    WHAT TO BRING:
Extra-warm clothes, so we can have campfire singing
    Sleeping bag and pillows
    Towel & washcloth
    Folding chair (just in case)
A gallon of drinking water (just in case)
A roll of TP (to donate to the cause)
    Beverage of choice
    Food (as above)
    MUSIC!

SLEEPING SPACE. Night temps here have been as low as upper 20's in the last week, and as high as upper 40's. The house will be warm. We have down comforters and extra-warm, polyfill mummy bags if anyone who insists on tenting is not warm enough. I have enough indoor sleeping space for everyone I THINK is coming. If we get too full we will just have to send a few over to the church, and Hardi has a sleeping room there that is pretty nice too.

Upstairs electricity is a bit limited at the moment with fire damage to the system leaving some lines still un-reconnected. Please see me before plugging in anything. There will be lights and candles but not the best bedtime reading or hairdryer power!

BATHROOMS. We have one downstairs with a working shower, and one upstairs without a working shower. I am not concerned about the septic system's capacity, but the hot water heater is small. If there is a crowd, please be considerate about when you shower, and for how long.

DRINKING WATER. Our house has a well and as spring, and the supply is from one or the other depending on season and conditions. They are both drinkable but if your palate and gut are not accustomed to country water, you may be in for a surprise. We use this water mostly for cooking and washing. ALL HOUSE DRINKING WATER is brought in from a nearby fresh spring, and my delicate stomach has never had a problem with it. There will be plenty on hand. But if you are concerned, you may want to bring along a gallon of whatever drinking water you are accustomed to.

RECYCLING. You need to know now that recycling in the country includes burning just about everything. If this is a concern for you, please do not dispose of any plastic here-- pack it out or it will eventually be toast.

RECREATION. Tioga County is beautiful. I hope you will get a chance to see some of our lakes, parks, and driving scenery. There are also working dairy farms here, and if you have never seen how milk is obtained, you can, here. Just let me know.

We may set up the telescope and see if it got warped in the fire, too. It actually gets DARK here. Not right here-- we have farm floodlights. But we know where...

See me for appropriate cow-tipping field trip locations. Maybe we can settle this important Mudcat debate for good!

JUG MILK ANYONE? It's pasteurized, but so fresh you can hear the cow mooing. I believe The Farmer in the Dell (in Mansfield) still has hormone-free cows in the barn that adjoins and supplies their jug milk and ice cream stand. This is the best milk I have ever tasted.... and fresh cream will no doubt have been bought for our coffee. You may want to bring a cooler so you can pack some jug milk or fresh cream to take home. If so, please bring empty containers-- they keep the glass jugs local whenever they can. (We have a few containers to give away too.)

    ANY QUESTIONS???

Yes. The lower oven is fully functional. The upper broils and warms. Mi casa, su casa.

I should say this too, just in case. Some of you know of Hardi's father's health problems. If I fall out of sight, Mmario has directions to our place... he and Dharmabum have agreed to host for us if we are suddenly called out of town, with help from Jackie and church friends. So either way, we are on.

Mmario, is your tarp big enough to wrap the end of the porch?

If I bring 15 Sacred Harp books, how many photocopies do I need? I'd like to get by without using all the paper, etc. Using the books gives lots more flexibility. If you have a Sacred Harp book, please bring it. MaryMac if you're coming can you get some of the Philly loaners?

Does anyone coming have any tunes they've heard on recordings that they particularly want to do? I need advance warning so I can make sure I know the tenor. Otherwise you're stuck with my picks. Be warned I have never called myself a 'singing master.' I know lots about Sacred Harp, but I can't do all the parts on all the tunes. I can't do alto at all.

bURKE, I think 15 will be fine and I'd like to suggest you contact MaryMac to see what she might be prepared to help present as far as parts.

I think Mmario shall be our barometer on the CD questions-- YES! (I think he's excited about this weekend just a little bit! Me too, me too!)

MORE INFO. A Mudcatter with health problems will be attending and has asked for a quiet spot out back, which I think is quite do-able as long as we all respect the need for "space." Please, if you have any needs healthwise yourself, let me know. We have "retreat" capabilities here if that's what you need, at this Gathering or any time.

LATE NIGHT ARRIVALS. Park wherever you can until morning, blocking the eastward, lower drive if necessary. Bring a flashlight to navigate the lawn to the front door, and watch out for the invisible woodchuck holes in the grass. The front porch light will be on and the front door unlocked. We will recruit a volunteer to occupy the living room couch and be available to welcome people at any hour, and there will be nesting materials and floor space waiting for you in the dining room, which is to the right of the entryway. The kitchen is very user-friendly and always in self-service mode. There will be enough light to make it all very simple-- so COME AHEAD. And oh yeah-- the dog may bark a bit but is locked up in a corner of the kitchen.

Hess, you know I adore you, and you on your own would be a treat. But I had so hoped LH would take himself a break right about now. Will you tell him for me? Tell him we have retreat space. In fact if you want to be in the quietest, chem-free zone we could set you up in Hardi's room at the church, and you could come out to the house as much as you like but sleep chem-free and let LH have some space? Wellsboro, where the church is, is a poet's dream for wnadering. Wynken, Blynken, and Nod live right out front of the church, in the Green. Use the link in the first part of the thread to see how pretty Wellsboro is.... and we have wild spaces too... a whole canyon....

Failing that, can Little Hawk or someone else get you as far as the north end of the Finger Lakes, to Mmario? And hey. What about your dancing friends. Why not ask one to come with you? It does not have to be a Mudcatter. What an opportunity to get to know someone better!

Tho come to think of it you do have several other Mudcatters up there... does flattop care to come, or sophie?

Directions are out now, in e-mail and PMs. If you need them and do not have them, please let me or Mmario know.

I had the best and funniest time ont the phone with Dharmabum today, running through every WHAT IF I had been worrying over. I laughed them all away, thanks to dear Dharmabum's wacky sense of humor. We did turn up one to actually SOLVE, and that was, WHERE ARE WE GOING TO PUT ALL THOSE INSTRUMENT CASES???? He has been here and agreed with me that this could be the only thing that would mkae the space a problem. So I solved it. This means, bring everything you might like to play, not just the backup guitar you don't mind leaving in your car overnight. I'm picking up a pedal steel guitar Thursday myself!

Also, we ran through the sleeping plan. Rain is forecast, but Dharma has tarps to create additional rain flies. Hardi and I (experienced campers) found at least a dozen good tent spots with great drainage, AND the house can take everyone who said they were thinking of coming. So don't stay home thinking it will be too wet for fun, or that you will be forced inside when you wanted to be outside.

Burke, it may be a good idea to do the Sacred Harp on Saturday night, at the church, after the evening service. OK? Might ask a few choir members to come then too.

A number of people have expressed various needs and concerns and, I think, ALL HAVE BEEN EASILY MET. So if you need to work anything out with me to make this great for you, LET ME KNOW, OK?

Sorcha, I'd go as far as Binghamton or Harrisburg to get you if you flew in Thursday, but Elmira and Williamsport are indeed only an hour away and we can get you here from there easily on any day-- I can dispatch the daughter, see? And we wanted Peg from Elmira Saturday night anyhow, and may have to go get her.

I dunno about Elmira now but there is a wonderful, comfy scenic bus up here from Williamsport also, ride is about an hour and a half, and you'd phone us from Mansfield for a ride, ten minutes tops. OK, 15, there is construction going on.

Oh yeah and Sinsull may drive from NYC, maybe you can fly there. And I think Dharma is passing near enough to Philly, or maybe Hyla... cuts out the commuter part of the fare. Or rent a car from Philly or Pittsburgh, 5 hours' drive. Or Cleveland, 6 hours, and usually cheapest.

Fiddles fly as carry on when you mention how old and VALUABLE they are. Also, Hardi has a very nice fiddle, as well as a second one, and someone else may be fiddl-fied too. Bring klex music and YOU and that Green Something Waltz. And jammies if you have any.

Stay... AS LONG AS YOU LIKE.

    I SAY BRING IT ON.

And two very far-away folk are considering coming.... can't say who til it's definite... you all know them... sssshh!!! Mmario you have met them... *G*G*G*G*

We are at the point now where I need to know how many overnighters, for real. As I have said, our house is not the only location possible. I think we may stash one or two offsite if it is not nice tenting weather...

Past gathering threads (annamill's, etc.) seem to indicate that a good number of people who hope to come, don't. I just can't get a fix on the numbers at all. Anything you tell me will help. But if you CAN come and have not been in touch yet-- come anyway! I want everyone!

To all of you who have directions-- where are YOUR minds? Didn't you notice I left out a little deatail-- like our phone number isn't in there is it? We are in the book, and so is the church, St. Paul's Wellsboro. We will be setting up the home voicemail with a message if we go offsite for more than the Saturday evening, PLUS leave a note at the house on the front door. SO COME AHEAD.

Duh, CRS. Burke is coming Friday evening, on the later side. Via Binghamton she said, and thus I think also through Elmira.

Don't worry about getting back-- we can do this.

I'm heading up from central/western NJ early Friday morning 7 ish. Route 22 west through Easton PA to rt.33 north to 80 west. Back home early Monday.

If this fits in with anyone's travel plans & you need a lift or just want to hook up along the way,let me know.

Now for something I feel that's worth mentioning. For anyone who may feel aprehensive about attending because of religious viewpoints,PLEASE DON'T. Let me assure you,Susan & Greg are some of the nicest, down to earth, warm hearted folks that I've had the pleasure to know. And I'm as much a heathen today as the day I met them.

    So,if you've got a sack full of bawdy songs please bring'em along. She's a good ol'broad who'll probably sing along with'em.

    Looking forward to meeting everyone.

    Ron.

Well, um, thanks, DB, but about the two sh*t stories you told me yesterday... don't you DARE tell them when Greg and I are not around because we want to laugh our asses off all over again!

Sorcha, my husband flew from JFK NY to San Francisco for $200 round trip. We went on priceline, told them how much we wanted to pay and got the tickets. He flew coach, on Delta, straight through, in the morning. I'm not saying you would get such good hours, or not have a connection, but you would definitely have a good price.

    Love, annamill

It is officially not going to happen for me. And I am disappointed. I had an orange ostrich feather for MMario's hat. Raise a glass of TurkeyTurd beer to me and I will sing a song for you all on Saturday. Mary

Mary - see you at old songs?

DB - why do I suspect I'm going to laugh 'till I choke?
