It was many moons ago, in fact it was last centuary, that Curly (Simon) Del Monte came to our country. He came from London, UK.,left his friend Martin Winsor,& started a folk club in Newmarket, Auckland NZ.At the "Poles" we saw many artists, Malcolm Price, Nina & Frederik, The Dubliners & The Hamilton County Bluegrass Band.
Any old Poles People please respond.

My only connection with Poles Apart was as a resident at the club of that name that Martin Winsor and Redd Sullivan ran briefly in a pub in Tottenham Court Road, London in 1969/70.

Malcolm Price was another regular visitor to the London club. Haven't heard anything of him for years, a friend of mine owns his old Gibson B45-12.

January 1985, Poetry Night (Wed?)
I did a few of my Pomme Poems and sang a song.
the next night I jumped on a plane back to Blighty.
Friendly crowd and a nice cup of coffee. I would have preferred cider!
I think it had closed in 1987 when I was in town again.
