29 Mar 01 - 01:56 PM (#428577) Subject: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June From: Devilmaster It seems that Borealis records is holding a 5th anniversary party in Toronto those dates. Apparently its a free concert on the harbourfront. The only act I personally know of is Tom Lewis. Wondering if any catters would want to meet up for it. Hope to hears from yas, Devilmaster |
29 Mar 01 - 02:13 PM (#428585) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June From: catspaw49 Well, I'd be pretty sure that Rick will be there, plus we have about a zillion 'Catters in Toronto, not to mention the Orillia bunch, and nobody does want to mention them. Then maybe Mike Regenstreif, being a folk DJ, will be there from Montreal and if you can prise Clinton's dead ass over that way, it could be a monster. Spaw |
29 Mar 01 - 02:20 PM (#428588) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June From: MMario This is the week after Old Songs, isn't it? I may be able to make it up depending on whether or not I have to work that weekend. and if I have any money left... |
29 Mar 01 - 02:20 PM (#428589) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June From: Devilmaster If your speaking about Hammond, I might be able to drag him out, but I might have more pull if you guys hound him too. If your out that way spaw, maybe you can find out who else might be playin. thanks |
29 Mar 01 - 02:36 PM (#428605) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June From: catspaw49 Sorry Devilmaster......I'm down here in Ohio, but the 'Cat keeps me pretty well connected to "you guys up north."........as well as the Aussies and those across the pond. After awhile you get to know everybody and everybody's business. The joint is really a little community of it's own, but in 3-D we're pretty far flung. What's fun though is developing a friendship so far away. One of my favorite buddies here is Bugsy and in Perth, Western Oz, he's about as far away as they get! Spaw |

29 Mar 01 - 02:45 PM (#428612) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June - Toronto From: Rick Fielding Should be a good show, and t'would be fun to see some new catters. I'm probably the only Borealis Mudcat "regular", but Curly Boy Stubbs drops by occasionally, and I've talked a few of the others into the odd visit. I'll try a "clicky" for their website. Rick |
29 Mar 01 - 03:24 PM (#428638) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June - Toronto From: Devilmaster Actually Joe, after I wrote the first msg, I was wondering how and if I could change it. I thought it sounded too finalized of a meeting, when I was looking for ideas. Thanks. Devilmaster |
29 Mar 01 - 03:29 PM (#428642) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June - Toronto From: Devilmaster well spaw, I was thinking of going to see tom lewis again at the tallships fest in michigan. Trying to convince clinton to go to that too. i think its 27-29 july. Maybe we could set that one up too as a cattermeet. I offer that officially as the name. Cattermeet. |

He's a pretty damn famous musician, who's revealed his true identity to only a handful here. He's given me permission to tell you who he really is....but do the words " Country Roads take me home...." ring a bell? After years of autograph hounds and teenage girls throwing themselves at him, he faked his death and moved to Ohio, where lives in seclusion. Thanks for the loan of the amp. I'll get it back to you on Saturday. Rick |
30 Mar 01 - 12:21 AM (#428973) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June - Toronto From: wysiwyg Rick, are you sure that isn't just a clever screen story? I was told he's been heard singing "Oh Mandy" in the shower, and without the shoulder pads ya gotta admit he does look an awful lot like Barry Manilow. Think about it. The initials make sense if you think about it. ~S~ |

30 Mar 01 - 02:44 PM (#429436) Subject: RE: Mudcatters meet 27-29 June - Toronto From: Steve Latimer So how's this for an idea? I know of a place in Markham that you can rent on the cheap. It's a beautiful old schoolhouse, reminds me of Greenbank, only not nearly as nicely finished. I have held musical events there several times. Would anybody consider picking one of those days, renting the place, have a pot luck, have a passing of the hat to cover the cost ($65 CDN last year, I doubt it's gone up) of the hall and maybe a donation jar, all money raised going to the Mudcat. I could probably provide a P.A. This is something that I had wanted to do anyway. I would have to see if the hall was available that weekend, but it could coincide nicely. |
