31 Mar 01 - 06:06 PM (#430228) Subject: Look what they done to my song From: Morticia I had the sad, sad duty of watching Rod Stewart tonight, recreating Maggie May and failing miserably...in fact, it was painful. I wondered, is there something about old rock stars that allows them selective deafness so they can't hear how awful they are now or is it a case of choosing to believe they are still great?
He bluffed his way through by shouting the lyric and leaning heavily on Ronnie Wood who was playing lead guitar and I was actually blushing for shame at how horrible it was.I only kept watching for that cute mandolin bit at the beginning and end. I know Rick Fielding has asked a similar question but why do we think they do that? Have they gone deaf? Do they think it still sounds good? What is going on here? |
