10 Apr 01 - 05:01 AM (#437180) Subject: RE: BS: Liz The Squeak From: Liz the Squeak Thanks guys, truly touched here..... I now have a Frankenbelly, although not as dramatic as Micca's was last year..... They couldn't do the keyhole bit, so they had to make a bigger hole. Regrettably they did not take me up on the suggestion that they do some lipsuction whilst they were down there. Stitches out on Sat, no lifting, stretching or rolling on the floor for 2-3 weeks, but I can now EAT!!! First meal was strawberry icecream..... yum..... just a shame there was no chocolate flavour left. Please keep ringing, I was very happy to get two calls last night, even though I was not very compos mentis, more sort of compost..... Food parcels of chocolate would be gratefully received!! (only kidding!) Thanks again, all you wonderful people. I've already had an offer to rub it better, but that's another thread altogether!! And thanks Manitas for posting this.. XXX LTS

I'm sure mine's still inside me, lurking like some alien life-form, just waiting to pounce on a passing piece of offal. Good to hear the plumber's done his bit and you're back on your feet with all four trotters in the fridge! I'm just worried there might not be enough ice-cream in East London. See if you can get it on prescription (with the NHS in the state it is now, I doubt it - though my grandfather did once get a crate of Guinness prescribed by his doctor. Jammy bugger). |

11 Apr 01 - 02:46 AM (#437902) Subject: RE: BS: Liz The Squeak From: Liz the Squeak Thanks all, this thread has now jeopardised my stitches, will have to print it out. Gervase, I suspect that is why the keyhole didn't work, huge dollops of suet pastry in the way..... memories of it kept me going in the dark hours before dawn on Monday when I couldn't eat.... Lady Penelope - Les's Career was never in doubt, there is a tape in a secret location, of me squeaking for over an hour, he can just edit it in..... Good to see you here at last. The squeak was heard last night, although slightly subdued, due to the amount of bruising.... what do they do when you're asleep?? My stomach looks (and no doubt feels) like the floor after Manitas has done his morris practice...... It's good to be back, but upright in an office chair is limited to 30-40 mns at the moment..... Sledge, thanks for ringing, it was good to know I might get to meet another looney.... Chocolate is being provided, and I'll follow your advice about not clicking on Spaw's choccy bunny, although it can't be any more stitch ripping that some of the stuff my so called friends at work sent me..... Roger - rolling on the floor is not a euphemism...... you bad bad boy. It's .... well, it's.... Oh alright, it is....!! Metchosin - Bob is actually my father in law, and I don't pat morris dancers bums any more, it just gets me into more trouble! Heaven's be praised, there was no shaving involved.... stubble rash is bad enough on your armpits...... but anywhere else..... NO!!! Thank you again, for all your kind thoughts and wishes. My 40 mins are up now, I have to go and return to suppine. Love Liz

11 Apr 01 - 11:57 AM (#438123) Subject: RE: BS: Liz The Squeak From: John J It's probably out of the question Liz, but as wot I'm in London next weekend (I'm one of the idiots running the marathon) the essential medication could be delivered personally. I'm staying at Oxford Street Youth Hostel Fri / Sat / Sun nights, home Monday afternoon. BTW thanks for your pm. John |
12 Apr 01 - 12:12 AM (#438748) Subject: RE: BS: Liz The Squeak From: Liz the Squeak John, after the marathon (now why don't they call THAT a snickers?) you will probably need it more than me!! 12 Apr 01 - 12:23 AM (#438758) Subject: RE: BS: Liz The Squeak From: Mark Cohen Liz, did you at least ask the guy with the bike and the tight black jeans to look in on you? I mean, once you're allowed to roll on the floor and all. Aloha, Mark |
12 Apr 01 - 12:27 AM (#438760) Subject: RE: BS: Liz The Squeak From: Liz the Squeak He's coming round later, to take me to lunch.... rolling on the floor is not an option (our respective partners might get a bit miffed), and he's not bringing the bike because I can't ride it yet!! That's a pleasure we're saving until May/June..... He did promise to wear the jeans though... just because I have no money, doesn't mean I can't go window shopping.....! LTS |

12 Apr 01 - 06:10 PM (#439343) Subject: RE: BS: Liz The Squeak From: Liz the Squeak Thanks everyone, he of the tight black jeans did indeed come round, and took me to lunch 60 miles away! He also let me go to sleep in the car for a couple of hours, whilst he wandered around town...... I'm an ungrateful sod like that and not at all brazen!! The exercise and fresh air had been most beneficial, and apart from the odd twinge when I get over excited at Sean Connery pictures, or speed humps in the road, I am practically as good as before. Singing will occur probably, over the weekend, stitches come out on Sat.... Then we shall see what happens.... Anyway, due back at work on Tuesday, so I have to be able to at least walk upright!! LTS |
