Contains magnesium which helps the body manufacture serotonin, as well as increasing calcium absorption and helping the heart and high blood pressure. It maybe be that when people crave chocolate it is because they have a magnesium deficiency! 1.5 ounces of chocolate has as many phenolic compounds as a 5 ounce serving of red wine, which has been associated with a reduced risk of coronary heart disease.
