SOMOS EL BARCO
(Lorre Wyatt)

The stream sings it to the river, the river sings it to the sea
The sea sings it to the boat that carries you and me

CHORUS:
Somos el barco, somos el mar
Yo navego en ti, tu navegas en mi
We are the boat, we are the sea
I sail in you, you sail in me

Now, the boat we are sailing in was built by many hands
And the sea we are sailing on, it touches many sands
CHORUS

O the voyage has been long and hard and yet we're sailing still
With a song to help us pull together, if we only will
CHORUS

So with our hopes we raise the sails to face the winds once more
And with our hearts we chart the waters never sailed before
CHORUS

Can anybody tell us more about Lorre Wyatt? I think he had an album on Folk-Legacy, but as far as I know, it hasn't been reissued. Is he still alive. Are any recordings available? For that matter, is Lorre male or female? Another Lorre Wyatt song is Huddie Ledbetter Was a Helluva Man.
The is a great song, and "Let It Be Your Lullaby" looks like a good one. Can anybody send me notation or a MIDI for "Lullaby"?

Lorre is male, a singer/songwriter from Massachusetts. In the mid-1990s he suffered a stroke.
Joe, If you google "lorre wyatt" you can get to an interview and writeup by Peter Berryman.

El arroyo le canta al rio,
El rio le canta al mar,
Y el mar le canta al barco
Que lejos nos va a Ilevar.

[Chorus]
Somos el barco, Somos el mar,
Yo navego en ti, Tu navegas en mi,
We are the boat, We are the sea,
I sail in you, You sail in me.

El barco en que navegamas
Fue hecha par muchas manas,
Y el mar que ahara surcamos
Muchas tierras tacarà.

La jornada ha sido dura
Y aun seguimos navegando,
Desafiando las tormentas
Y asi siempre seguiremos.

Con nuestras esperanzas
Altas velas levantamos
Y con nuestros corazones
Nuevas rutas exploramos.

There are some misspellings and typos in the lyrics Joe copied and pasted above, so here they are...

SOMOS EL BARCO
(Lorre Wyatt)

El arroyo le canta al río,
El río le canta al mar,
Y el mar le canta al barco
Que lejos nos va a llevar.

[Chorus]
Somos el barco, somos el mar,
Yo navego en ti, tú navegas en mí,
We are the boat, we are the sea,
I sail in you, you sail in me.

El barco en que navegamos
Fue hecho por muchas manos,
Y el mar que ahora surcamos
Muchas tierras tocará.

La jornada ha sido dura
Y aun seguimos navegando,
Desafiando las tormentas
Y así siempre seguiremos.

Con nuestras esperanzas
Altas velas levantamos
Y con nuestros corazones
Nuevas rutas exploramos.

... which means:

The brook sings to the river,
The river sings to the sea
And the sea sings to the ship
That will take us far away.

[Chorus]
We are the ship, we are the sea,
I sail in you, you sail in me,
We are the boat, we are the sea,
I sail in you, you sail in me.

The ship we sail on
Was made by many hands
And the sea we now sail
Will touch many lands.

The day has been hard
And we're still sailing
Braving/Defying the storms
And we'll always carry on thus.

With our hopes
Tall sails we hoist
And with our hearts
New routes we explore.
